For more information on how to donate contact: http://american.redcross.org/site/PageS … gRedButton ********ATTENTION ATTENTION*********** Because of the recent events in the news concerning the numerous disasters around the world I've decided to call an audible and pledge that all proceeds from the event will go to the American Red Cross' general disaster fund instead of specifically going only to Haitian Relief efforts. I figure we should let the organization decide where the help will do the most good. To be clear the the only requirements we have to participation is either a potluck dish or a $5 donation. and now back to telling you about the place. ***** Mt. Airy Arboretum         The Treehouse   More than 1,400 acres total, Mt Airy is a lush forest with plenty of room to explore. Mt. Airy Forest, with its trees, shrubs, and wildflowers, offers a never-ending variety of natural beauty. While surrounded by an urban environment, it is home to a great variety of flora and fauna including Virginia whitetail deer and a rare and endangered salamander. The group will meet at 1 PM for lunch at either shelter 19, which is in the middle of the park; or if available, shelter 22, which is in the back of the park. Shelter 22  Shelter 19  PM me if you need my number in case you get lost and need directions. I'm bringing a case of burgers, a couple packages of hot dogs and buns and the charcoal to cook them. If this works correctly, my fellow artists will be there with other picnic-type foods and/or drinks and we'll talk and eat and network. The rest of the day is entirely up to you. You can do as little or as much as you desire. I just hope you come with a positive attitude and ready to meet people. Normally people contact other folks attending and decide to shoot something together. The shoot can last as long as the two parties desire but most people set themselves up in hour blocks like this: 9 AM - 10 AM - 11 AM - 12 AM - 1 PM - lunch 2 PM - 3 PM - 4 PM - 5 PM - 6 PM - 7 PM - off for sushi I'll start a list of people attending and what they plan to bring to the pot luck.
