Please read the rules ENTIRELY before entering or voting.

The rules have been changed for clarification and a second portfolio added.

This is meant to be fun for all, so lets keep it that way!

Mods, I asked in CAM where I could put this and was told General Industry was fine, please check the CAM log for 9/29/09 if there is a question. Thank you.

Unfortunately the last version of this had to be locked due to what appeared to be vote stacking in favor of one or two members. Please note that I have had at length conversations with both of them and it seems that well meaning friends had been canvassing for them without their knowledge, while a nice gesture this is NOT allowed.

Okay everyone, lets try this again! Round 6.2 now.

Photographers in need of a print portfolio now is your chance to have one done for free (models, MUA's etc., you'll have a chance in the near future).

There will be TWO winners.

One winner will be picked by the popular vote and a second will be chosen by an anonymous voting committee.

This is to help develop new talent, if you have an established print portfolio please do not submit, let the newbies have a chance.

Here’s how we'll do it.

M.M. Members get to vote, whoever wins I will print a portfolio for and ship at my expense (the second portfolio and shipping has been paid for by a generous donor that wishes to remain anonymous).

What you'll get, up to 20 prints (9x12 or 11x14, winners choice) printed by me.

• Photographers submit your name here (do not post images) and tell us briefly why you would like a printed portfolio and what you would use it for (basically, why should we vote for you).

• MM Members please view the submitted portfolios and simply reply with a Quote = Vote. Remember, please base your vote solely on the photographers submission.

• DO NOT CRITIQUE the portfolios here as this is not the correct forum for that.

• He/She with the most votes by 11:59 pm PST Sunday 5/16/2010 wins the first portfolio! (please do not stack votes or ask your friends to vote for you, let the membership decide based on your quality of your M.M. portfolio).

• The winner of the second portfolio will be announced as promptly as possible, and will be chosen from all submissions, regardless of vote totals, so that even those who enter at the last minute, or are not well known in the MM community, can be encouraged and rewarded.

The winning photographer should have a body of work ready to be printed immediately.

Files will need to be print ready which means sized, (9 x 12 = 2700 x 3600 pixels, 11 x 14 = 3300 x 4200 pixels) with Adobe 1998 RGB embedded and ready for upload no later than 5/23/2010 (failure to submit on time or incorrect file type may result in a loss of this opportunity as I will be printing on Tuesday and Wednesday). Sorry to be so tough on this but I have had freebies in the past drag on for months and they are too hard to keep track of.

I'll discuss paper choices with the winner.

There are no catches, you win, you upload files and get prints. Your image files WILL NOT be used for any purposes other than to print your portfolio.

Past winners of free portfolios are:

Photographers: Becks , Nadirah B, Grant Thomas, Chanel Rene, Ana Ochoa, Markus Goerg and Sita Mae

Models: Megan Farquhar and Susie B.

Good luck, please submit and vote. Ready, set, GO!

If I missed something please ask here, I'll be answering questions and updating the entrants and vote count checking throughout the contest.

I'd like to be considered.

I have only had prints of my work made up for other people.  It would be great to have a portfolio of my own to show perspective clients and agencies around philadelphia.

Id like to be considered.

Been wanting a print portfolio for a while and would like to have something for when I apply to grad school later this year.  Would also like something for when I get around to inquiring about agencies and any potential assisting gigs.

I would love to be considered for this opportunity. This coming July will be one full year since I photographed my first model. Previously, every one else had been family and friends, and that was something of which I had just started photographing a year ago this past March. In other words, I have been using a camera for just a little over a year, now, photographing people. I still have not had anything printed for a portfolio as the cost at this point in my life is just entirely too high. To be frank, photography has saved me in many ways. It has helped me to express myself more truly and purely than any other medium ever has. Even when I was just shooting with my crappy little 50 dollar camera (of which I still use images from, in my portfolio), I was able to take my emotions, and turn them into an image that taught me to better understand myself. Even helped heal me from some of the negativity of my past. To have my images as something I could hold, touch, and even use to hopefully further my beginning career ...I don't have the words for how much that would mean to me. Thank you for creating this possibility for people like myself who do not have the funds or means to make a printed portfolio.

I would like to be considered.

I am in need of some professional prints to show to galleries and clients. I currently only have prints that didn't sell or clients didn't pick up.
Plus since the beginning of the year, I have reinvented my style and would like my book to reflect this.

I'd like to be considered.

I was unemployed for a while.  Am now just barely makes enough to keep my home and survive.  I would love to have my works in prints for proper showing to potential galleries.  This is my dream as stated on my profile.

I would like to be considered!

I am trying to make my living exclusively through photography and depend very much on my portfolio.
I simply couldn't afford printing an updated book since a very, very long time now and rely on my web-portfolio. It would be fantastic to get the chance having my works printed!

As I am ramping up my porfolio for submissions to photographic agents and publications, this would be invaluable to me. I'm a supporter and user of Model Mayhem, and when members get together to help each other our like this, I remember why.

Thank you for the opportunity, I'd love to be considered! smile

I'd like to jump in again.

I'm not new to photography, but I am new to MM and will be shooting my first pro models Sat. May 15th! I've never done it before but figure that the only limits you have in life are the ones you place on yourself, so I'm jumping into the pool with both feet!

I need a printed portfolio to represent the different interests and styles I shoot to be able to show potential clients. I'm very happy with my website but don't have a nice hard-copy portfolio to take around to show. As a lot of you are well aware, times are tough and money is tight.

As a person battling Young-Onset Parkinson's Disease, and who is living his dream by following his heart and passion, I would be eternally grateful for the opportunity, and would hope that I could, in the future, pay it forward somehow.

Thanks for the chance at this!

Todd

I would be honored to be considered!

I have taken pictures for years as a hobbist.
Now I really want to take the real step at putting myself out there and get some kind of gallery showings. Having a  printed portfolio of my work and being able to walk into studios 'n galleries and show the owners my work, I think, and I hope, will let them give me even just those few moments to show them, letting them see my work. Thank you for looking!

I will surely be voting but am also appealing to the voting committees/ participants as well.

My name is Jeremy and I've been testing, testing and more testing since '06. Trying to push myself as well as continue to educate myself as to what makes a great shot.

I've had a very difficult time getting into the swing of things when it comes to digital, but have started to develop a workflow as well as a workable style. This coming weekend... I am shooting (again testing) designs/ dresses for a couture designer here in Chicago, looking to absolutely push my book into the next level of growing up to becoming a fashion/ editorial photographer.

Photography is my very expensive hobby (I work as a waiter to support myself) and it is my goal to be self-sufficient as a working photographer. The time and the expense is a killer, but I don't ever stop PUSHING myself. Strive for technical mastery as well as development of my artisan vision.

I appreciate the opportunity to plead my case and thank all for reading.

I'd like to enter again and be considered. This would beat the odds by 1 (third time's the charm, they say smile )

It would be also just in time for me to submit my work in this highly competitive market that is NYC, and every detail would count to be successful. I am currently test shooting in order to work with agencies, and this would certainly be the cherry on top.

Best to all,

Ben

I submitted last time and just received your email. I believe I should be chosen! I am a photography who drives strictly on passion.  I haven't had a job in a long time, and I can't seem to get paid shoots. I am visiting agencies with old prints (not even from my portfolio now), and would LOVE to have my work printed to have the next step.

I would love to be considered as I have been at this for 6 years now and as you can see from my work it shows that I have developed more than as a photographer but as a person.

My ideal printed book portfolio would be more for my Boudoir Photography work as I consider it one of the most difficult to do. What I aspire to do each and everytime is to create beautiful images of every woman that I work with no matter what her age, her size, her skill level. And a book would represent just that. As I tell them all I want every woman that I take photos of to walk away delighted that they had the opportunity to let me work with them to create these images that they can show off.

Well let me give this a try, my name is Frank and photography has taken over my life since I began a little over a year ago. My work is more in the realm of dark conceptual photography which explores human inner demons. As this is a hobby, I rarely create prints of my work and would love the chance of having a physical documentation of my work to have for myself and to showcase to art galleries in hopes of having my work exhibited.

Thanks, Frank

You know I love your printing Brent, but I've never made any prints for myself and am in dire need of a portfolio.  Please consider me for this contest.  I've spent a lot of time working on getting the types of shots I feel I would need to present agencies.  While I still feel my work could improve, I also feel I have enough now to put something good together.

Thanks.  smile

I would like to be considered please. I would love to have a printed portfolio as I am constantly meeting people while out and about who ask me if I have something on hand to show them, and alas I don't because I can not afford it. I work with one camera and one lens and can not even afford to add to that. I do this for the love of it, I have a need to create, but money, or lack there of holds me back. I would love to be able to show people my work and hopefully impress them enough so that I could be hired for something. I give out my portfolio address online to people which has my contact info but I never hear from most people. Seems people are too busy these days to be bothered with looking for something where as if I had a print portfolio I could show them on the spot. Please vote for me if you feel I am deserving, otherwise please vote for whomever you feel should receive this honour.

I would very much like to be considered!

I have been diligently building my book for 9 months now, and I'm right at the point where it's time to get it done.  However, in my excitement I've spent more than I've made and this opportunity would allow me to continue with my plan to establish myself in my new home of Miami Beach as an exceptional professional photographer.  Fashion and beauty are my main genres, and I will be submitting my portfolio for agency work as well as publication work.  This is my full-time job, but it's been my soon-to-be husband supporting us both so I can pursue my dream career.  It would be a huge accomplishment to have a quality hard-book, allowing me to earn a living doing what I really love, and probably do too often for free.  : )

Thanks everyone for the support and thanks to Blue Cube for trying this again.

I would love to be considered.

I'm a newbee at Model Mayhem. I'm only 19 years old but I just moved to London from Portugal on the 12th of April 2010. I came here to become better at what I love most; Fashion Photography. I completed a 3 month intensive course on fashion photography in Lisbon and not being able to go to University because of not having grades in 12th grade, I'm on the look out for a job as an assistant. I've got 6 months to find a job or education if I can't do this than I have to go back to Portugal. I've put everything I have in this move but, as you can imagine, financialy I'm close to broke (last week had to survive on 6 pounds hehe ..

With the printed portfolio I would be able to go to studios, agency's, exebitions and employers to show what i'm worth. I don't have a lot, but my best selection can be found on
