Ok, so i have a photographer that wants to use gold leaf on 1 picture, silver leaf on the next.  He wants the texture you see in the gold leaf applications.... I have makeup that looks gold metals and silver metallic, but he wants gold leaf.  In playing around with it... not a single durn adhesive i have would make the stuff stick!  The one thing i havent tried yet is spirit gum, because i'm allergic to it so i cant test it on myself.  Will this be my best option?  i can wear gloves when applying it, i'm not going to go into shock or anything.  Just trying to find the best way about it.

Thanks everyone!

You might look into gum arabic and fish glue, sold at art supply stores like Dick Blick.

The " Lick & Stick " method is more fun though! ;-)))))))

these products are not designed to be used on the skin for prolonged periods of time... please dont suggest products that are not designed to be used on the skin.. just because the "work" doesn't mean that they should be used ..

I watched someone use baby oil as a base.

I'm not sure how long the shoot was but I did see the finished work and it didn't look like any fell off.

I have done this look before. Hair spray, good old fashioned aqua net!

I second the baby oil, or eye lash glue (spread/pat on a thin layer).

I say save the hair spray for body use, not for the face.

You can even use aloe vera gel, it wipes clean like baby oil, but doesn't leave any residue.

Gafquat. It's concentrated hairspray in a thick goopy liquid form. You can either thin it with water or with alcohol (IPA). It's totally watersoluble but sticks brilliantly for leafing skin.
