The 40+ Project...Volume 3: Sexy Fashions!
Ladies and gentlemen, our humble MM site has been the launching point for a series of self-published books showcasing women over the age of 40. It began in 2008 when some of us were discussing how women in that age group were being passed over for assignments even though they still looked great. One thing led to another and photographer Andrew Gellert, of Mesa, Arizona, took the initiative of editing the book. It did so well, we decided to do it again...and again. As many of you are already aware, Andrew passed away on September 29, 2011, with a third edition pending. His brother gave me permission to continue the project. Here are Andrew's guidelines: [begin quote] The theme for the next book is Mature & Sexy and Fashion. Hold on... Did he say Fashion? Yep.. he did. Here it is... Fashion defined as follows: Leather, Lace, Silk, Satin, PVC, Latex, Rope, Feathers. The Sexier the better.. NO NUDES, NO Topless, No Nipples, NO Genitalia, and NO Bondage. Classy, Sexy and Mature. Racy, Rebellious and Romantic. Sexy, Scintillating and Seductive. Pick your pleasure, it's all about the Sexy and Mature woman over 40 and her seductive and sexy best fashions. Fully dressed to thrill or laced up in the finest lingerie, you decide, you design or you imagine... Give it your sensual and seductive and sexiest looks in whatever erotic and sexy fashions you like. [end quote] The conditions are: * All pictures submitted must have never been published before, either in print or on the web. (And this includes here on MM or Facebook) * All pictures submitted must have been taken in 2011 or 2012. * The turn-in date will be May 31, 2012. Technical specs: Must be .jpg image sRGB color 300 ppi is required 2400 pixels X 3000 pixels (approximate size) No watermarks please.. (Photographer and models names will be printed under the image.) Nov 17 11 04:34 pm Link Jeff, as I mentioned in my email reply to you, I would definitely still be interested in participating in this project. If there are any 40+ models in the NC area that would also like to collaborate and participate in the effort, feel free to drop me a msg! Now, if we can just keep from injuring ourselves for a few more weeks...! Nov 26 11 04:12 pm Link I'm in. On the search for a model or two. Jim Nov 26 11 04:52 pm Link I would love to participate; however, since I've taken on the field of art nude modeling, I have very few photos with sexy outfits. I have a few with lingerie in my port you could check out and see if they fit the mold. Let me know. Nov 26 11 04:57 pm Link Glad I happened to see this post. I hadn't heard about Andrew's death---how sad. I and a NY photographer will be submitting pics before the deadline. Nov 26 11 05:12 pm Link Can a model work with two separate photographers and they both independently submit pics for inclusion in the book? Just wondering as one is a designer as well as a photographer. Nov 26 11 06:10 pm Link Would love to be a part of this project.Have one model in mind ---but need to find more models around here. I'm going to be having surgery on my knee in a few weeks so between that and everything else going on, I won't be making as many trips as I anticipated; but towards the end of January I hope to get out there again. Dec 13 11 06:02 pm Link You're on--looking forward to it. My best to with your surgery and a GREAT 2012. Dec 14 11 04:16 am Link i feel passed over. but i think it's more because i live in a small town here in Arizona and there don't seem to be too many photographers out this way. i even changed my profile to nearby Tuscon in hopes to get seen more. but even Tuscon is tiny compared to some of your bigger U.S. cities (i'm from Berlin, Germany). anyways, i'd love to be a part of something like this. but... i have no one to shoot me. I will keep you posted. If you know any models in the Dayton area let me know. Dec 18 11 04:37 pm Link I am 48, did you complete your shoot yet? I am interested if not. I haven't been in Dayton for a while so I don't know the scene, but if you post a casting call, or browse models and contact them, I'm sure you'll get something going. Dec 18 11 04:52 pm Link Smiley wrote: Lori, you have a fantastic portfolio and we'd love to have you submit some photos. If it weren't for the 3000 miles between us, I'd do this shoot myself! But if you have any from 2011 that would qualify, or you plan on doing any shoots before January 31 of next year, that would be great. Dec 18 11 04:54 pm Link I know I replied via the call. But even if I'm not involved this year I would LOVE to be involved in the next one! Going to be following this for updates. Dec 21 11 08:41 pm Link Awww, d'oh. I've got a shoot booked with an amazing over 40 on the 21st of Feb, less than a week after the closing date! Looking forward to seeing the result of this. Dec 22 11 03:42 am Link With the slow pace of submissions -- and the fact that I got started on this so close to the holidays, I'll be pushing back the deadlines. Feel free to send 'em in as you get 'em. And Merry Christmas (and other seasonal holiday greetings) to all! Dec 24 11 07:44 am Link Hope you can use what I have emailed...it's so sad that Andrew has passed away...and so great that you are carrying on the wonderful tradition of showing how mature women can still look great in the prime of life. Here's wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a super New Year. Regards, Suzy Monty Cornwall England UK Dec 24 11 07:49 am Link I am interested in this project, however I would need a great and daring photographer as I am disabled. I have never let it stand in my way but I'm uncertain there are photographers with the same resolve. If someone is interested, you can read my profile and view my portfolio here on mm. I just turned 40 in November. I live about 40 miles East of Pittsburgh, PA, in a town called Mount Pleasant. Thank you, Loria Harrison Dec 25 11 09:07 pm Link |
