Is now being sold as M.A.C. cosmetics. Correct me if I am wrong but I do not believe that M.A.C makes a 120 color palette of any kind. My girl friend just called me to ask me if this was a good deal some guy was selling it outside Century 21. I told her that it was a co that sells and then people put their own name on it, coastal scents, Bh cosmetics. But now they are throwing M.A.C on it trying to move this thing for $50-$80 to people.

LOL its all over the net, I bet they sell even more of these now.

This palette is NOT M.A.C they slap names on it like they do with canal street pocketbooks lol
Not sure what name brand sells 144 colors for that amount. But that was very nice of you buying that for your MUA.

Oh god. wow. Uhm.
Yeah, I hope you told your friend not to bother with it, haha.
Sorry, but I started out with those two pallettes as an mua two years ago. They really, really do suck. About the only color with any real good payout in there is the pink-- see my avatar, although that one is actually a layering of ALL of the pinks and a little bit of a light purple. their metallic colors- the silver, gold, bronze? Are a joke. you're lucky if any stays on the lid when you apply it- mine sat there right up until the model blinked, and then it was a case of powder everywhere BUT where we wanted it.

If M.A.C. ever made a huge palette like that, it would definitely not cost $80, that's for sure!

On a side note, i wonder whether real palettes that brands come out with are actually comparable to the quality of their single eyeshadows. I don't know why, but i'm not sure a single Stila eyeshadow is the same quality as the eyehadows in their palettes (urban decay seems the same though)

E.l.f. Put out a 144 palette at target for about 25 bucks. Big 9x11 case. Sound familiar?

Great write up KJ, I know I would never purchase those and have had a few people ask me about them. I can only imagine that they fall off the skin and crumble up.

Yes for pros they're terrible and shouldn't be in anyone's kit.  I do admit I do have one, but I use it for myself.  I don't wear tons of makeup on the day to day basis so this "will do" for when I do apply it.  Most of the time it's when I'm going out for a ladies night and I'm gonna sweat and dance it off anyway.  At 3am no one really cares what my eye makeup looks like lol.

I would! lol Use good eye makeup on yourself too! If anything moves on your face your eyes should stay in place. I used to be big into the club scene and I can tell you the only thing that ever really looked like it did when I left the house was my eyes. My hair was usually pulled back, bronzer GONE, blush GONE lol. Oh sometimes I miss it.

Yeah...ladies night is like once a year lol.  I'm old and all my friends have kids so trust me "it'll do" LOL.  But on special occasions like dinner with the husband, holidays, anniversaries etc., I pull out my REAL stuff. big_smile
