Hey there everyone! I was hoping to get some help, ideal from people who works/have worked in Great Britain, cause I've gotten a joboffer where the contact says that I have to pay a fee to get a international model license from The Advert Council, so that they can use my photo in ads for example.

Does this council exist? I seach on google but I only found something called "Adcouncil". Please help me, I would be so happy to get this questionmark untangled smile

Sounds like a scam to me, I'm not aware of such a body.

Sounds fishy to me, but it's difficult to make further comment without knowing a lot more about the job offer.

Based on what you have said already, my first hunch would be that someone is trying to scam you.

There is no such thing as an "International Modelling License" - it's all just a SCAM!

They offer you a job but say you have to pay for this 'license'. You pay, they disappear along with your money.

Just my $0.02

There is absolutely positively NO SUCH THING AS an international model license so it is automatically a scam.

Well, the payment for the license they acctually said that they will send to me, and it was £700, and then I'd have to send this money to this so called "Advert council" to get my license. But still.... I googled "The Advert Council" and it doesn't come up when you search... so I guess that if this would have been some kind of over-all license for all models in advertising then It would have shown in the search...

Also the company's name didn't show when I search at google... So thank you for you're help. I guess it really just was a scam after all.. Too bad though that theese frauds apparently hangs out here, at modelmayhem.com.

Yeah, it's a total rip off. I can get you an international modelling licence for only £200, and I'll throw in a free box of corn flakes.

hi I dont know I think I recieved the same thing this the email and was the emailer john dalton
I am pleased to inform you that one of your picture was  chosen by my client.

We need to obtain a contract which you and my client will sign before your picture can be used.

Most importantly, we need to obtain a license for you that will enable you sign a contract with my client..

You cannot sign a contract for a poster advertisement if you do not have a license.

The advert council need to be paid before they can issue you a license.

My
Financier will send you the money so you can directly send  the money
to the advert council office that will issue the license to you.

My
Financier cannot deposit the money directly to the advert council
office because the advert council office always requires the owner of
the
photo to deposit the the money for the license
directly so they can prove that the owner of the picture is the one
receiving the license and that the pictures were not stolen from the
internet without the owners consent.

Your photo cannot be used until you have signed a contract with my client.

Your salary of EUR10,000.00 will follow after the contract has been signed.

If you agree to what i have stated above:

Please
provide me with the following details below so my financier who will be
sponsoring the acquisition of your license can make payment which you
will receive and send money for your license to the Advert Council
office, here in England.

These frauds hang out everywhere.  They existed before the internet.  My mother gets them over the telephone.

This thread is over one year old.  Elmira Panjavi's post is a couple months old.  Probably a little late to cam it...
