Photo selling site- passing it along
saw an ad for this site on Craigslist, not sure if it is legit or worth it but I thought I would pass the link on to you guys and gals http://www.photarazzi.com/photographer2/ May 21 12 10:22 am Link Ah, yes, sounds interesting, but the devil is always in the details, and there appear to be none on what little there is of the site. For photographers: no need for a studio or marketing, you shoot, we do the rest. "Make some coin" but no clue whether we are talking a dollar a picture, or what. For people wanting photos, only promises of how simple and inexpensive it is. So worth following, but I'm not convinced for whom, exactly, they are working. Is it an attempt to suck fools into giving away their photos? dunno. Is it an attempt to match up consumers and producers in an easy and profitable way for both? again, dunno. Watch this space for further developments, I guess. May 21 12 10:35 am Link I've seen that before. I passed. May 21 12 11:52 am Link Sometimes you gotta take a chance to find a diamond. It's worth a try. I'll let you know what I find out. Dan Contacted them at 5:32 pm and haven't heard from them. They might have a 386 computer or their webmaster is asleep. It is now 8:30 pm. May 21 12 05:37 pm Link AW NO great for the weekend warrior but I will pass again. May 21 12 08:31 pm Link I filled out the basic form; we'll see. May 22 12 04:47 am Link Just signed up--can't hurt to give it a try. May 22 12 06:55 am Link The amazing testimonial on the home page was kindly provided by the same person the domain is registered to. Something's telling me to stay away. There are things to think about before signing on the line that is dotted. May 22 12 06:51 pm Link

Reason: violates rules Comments: Spam. May 22 12 09:16 pm Link yikes! Looks like this one is something to stay away from...... well now people can see this thread and hopefully know. May 23 12 12:31 am Link It sounds like they will use you as a freelancer to shoot jobs that they come up with. Ownership of the images is a big problem. Of course some of the big money is paparazzi type work. The right shot of the right star can be worth big money. The trouble is that the established pros doing that work have a whole network of informants who tip them as to when and where the stars will be, and they will not be friendly with some newbe showing up trying to steal their business. Talking about doing headshots, etc., there isn't much money in that, especially after they rake off their percentage. For someone just getting started, it might be useful to get some experience, but keep your eyes wide open and really know the details before committing yourself. Where do I start. 1- Horrible banner image (mirrored yo fill in the crowd?!?). 2- The HTML and CSS is a mess. 3- No FAQ, ToS ... 4- Seems to be limited to the US 5- Banner image seems to have been lifted from here: http://chatter-fest.com/celebrities-shi … ur-awards/ I think I'll give this a pass but thanks for the info. Always interested in new venues. May 24 12 05:34 am Link |
