Someone makes facebook page with ur photos/brand?
What would you think/do if someone made a facebook page with your photos/work/brand? Someone made a facebook page with my photos/brand, and I just saw it today: https://www.facebook.com/45SurfMalibu Has a lot of the older photos, but i guess it's fun. At least they wished everyone a happy thanksgiving & happy holidays. and they salute veterans--that's cool. What would you think/do if someone made a facebook page with your photos/work/brand? Maybe i should thank/hire them? What would you do? Mar 02 13 08:19 pm Link Post on there facebook page that the photos and images are stolen. Mar 02 13 08:23 pm Link wow Mar 02 13 08:25 pm Link I'd simply report them to facebook for copyright/trademark violation, who knows what they're doing with the women or clients who are contacted thinking that they are you? Mar 02 13 08:29 pm Link & here's one of my images being used on a commercial website: https://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thread_id=876790 one of my social media followers notified me that one of my photos was being used on a commercial photography business website: Mar 02 13 08:31 pm Link For starters, send them a note stating that they are stealing your work that you own and ask them to promptly remove the images. Second, if this does not work, report them to Facebook and note that they are stealing other peoples work too. Yes it might just be Facebook technically, but who knows what they are doing with your images otherwise. It is also still publishing against a copyright on the work regardless of the forum. I had a reputable university that stole some of my work at one point. It turned out that after I sent them a bill that they actually paid me, but if you don't stand up for your work no one else will and these people will think that they can steal from any photographer out there to make their page or whatever. just my .02 cents. Mar 02 13 08:43 pm Link I wouldn't hesitate to report them to facebook. Those images are yours, and like some others have said above.. What ELSE are they doing to those photos? Sounds like some people need to get a life. Mar 02 13 08:50 pm Link And here's some dude who just copied my photos onto his server. . . and sells advertising around them: http://www.uncoached.com/2011/12/01/a-n … om-45surf/ He writes, with apparently no sense of irony nor shame: One of the nicest things about posting sexy women is that there are endless supplies of companies out there that sell their products by use of advertising said product with attractive females. What are people thinking these days? Is there no respect for copyrights and property rights? Mar 02 13 09:50 pm Link you know its really simple to deal with infringement on FB. they have a web page. you fill it in and SEND. Mar 02 13 10:00 pm Link Just let FB know that you are the copyright holder and want the images taken down. They will be gone in minutes. Mar 02 13 10:12 pm Link First I'd send them a polite note. Might suggest that they link content from your Facebook page rather than post it (use the Share button). Nice way to drive traffic to your page. And if that doesn't work? Facebook is very responsive to the "Is this your Intellectual Property?" link. Mar 02 13 11:38 pm Link I didn't look over everything, but it says "Community Page about 45surf." Doesn't that mean 'fan page.' I would just contact them and ask to remove it if you don't like it or to make it more clear that it's a fan page if you don't mind it. Mar 03 13 12:30 am Link I would take screen shots of the pages. Then send them an invoice. If it became an issue I let the lawyers politely explain it to them. Mar 03 13 06:03 am Link that's crazy Mar 03 13 06:09 am Link Mark Laubenheimer wrote: there mark laubenheimer goes again, trying to disrupt yet one more of my threads with libel and slanderous, false, malicious accusations. cease and desist immediately, and amend your post. mark, by now everyone knows that you regularly stalk all my threads to harass me, as a quick google search shows. i have no idea why you are so obsessed with me and my work/art. again i ask you, please stay out of my threads as you contribute no useful content, but only snark, harass, libel, and try to derail--all of which are against community rules here. They seem to be a fan, and we probably shouldn't come down too hard on our fans for sharing our work which they like/enjoy with others. Of course, it would be nice for them to add a bit more about who they are, and how it is a fan site, like you said. I'll probably compose a message stating thusly and send it them. Thanks for the advice! Mar 03 13 09:52 am Link Mark Laubenheimer wrote: Wow, I make a post at 9:49 AM and you quote it at 9:50 am. Seriously man, what is up with you? Why do you stalk/monitor/respond to all my activity? Can you please find a better, more positive way to invest your time & negative energy? Mar 03 13 09:57 am Link Its simple....face book allows you to take over and merge false pages ....let him do all the work then take it from him Mar 03 13 10:09 am Link 702Photo wrote: cool! i didn't know that. thanks! anywhere i can find more info?
