July 13, 2007 1:46pm This is a carefully considered and elegantly rendered image. I think geometry, human proportions (golden section?) and light are all major players in this photo. I love the subtle color palette and the tonal range. Pushing her to the side, and against that massive pillar creates a beautiful visual tension. The curve in her back and the pressure against her butt are sublime, as is the column of light that slices through the middle of everything. Finally, there's the interplay of hard, straight lines, complex curves, and almost random shapes, each corralled into its own sector of the image plane.
