Great shot for all the right reasons.
I love this pictured “blessing for the Girls”, with a very convincing young girl.
The light is fantastic, cleverly used here: the light on the door tells us that there is an opening, who knows who’s lurking out there and might unexpectedly step inside. Light is also on the clock, past noon, past praying time… The lonely Indian out there in the cold on the painting… can he protect himself from the cold, can this girl?
The naked girl is beautifully lit, posing just right. The cross on the ground nearly hidden, blending with the white (color of innoncence) robe. Yes this girl is initiated. Heaven knows into what, but no danger here, this is a picture with warm tones, in a cosy room, the absence of the first door tells me this is the room of the girl herself. Has she just discovered her outer self and is somewhat puzzled by all that? Well, the caring nun comforts her, whatever she’s done or thought, or whatever they will going to do together, or have done. Puzzles, puzzles… love this kind of storytelling

Yeah you were shooting these girls in/with habits back in the 70's as I recall. They look younger now. The SantaFe effect is particurly nice!
