August 31, 2015 12:47pm The costume was designed and hand made by Mikaela Holmes, who was an artist-in-residence at the Autodesk Instructables Lab in SF. The project goal was to fuse fashion and technology while also utilizing high-tech production methods, in particular, 3D printers.
One of the challenges that was interesting about this shoot was simultaneously emphasizing the glow of the EL wire which puts out only a very faint glow, while still capturing the texture of the black pieces.
