January 19, 2020 10:44am So a little story... I've been working with a coach (in career) and we came up with a game. One of the activities she works is called "soul cards" where you work with a piece of mat board (5" x 10") and create a collage using just two images (background and one single piece juxtaposed).
I working with that aspect ratio that I was inspired to create a set of images of my work, printed out 8x5 and mounted on board and bagged - which I used as "tarot cards" for seeing my mood/outlook as it shifted from day to day, moment to moment. (You may recall my “Archetypes” album I show now and then… those are those images in the form I used them for the cards)
Recently I was inspired to use an extension of that technique to explore deeper into my artistic process, motivations and frustrations and chose 5 other photographers who’s work I found particularly evocative and inspiring (ie, most frequently produce the reaction “Damn I wish I’d taken that shot”). You were one of those 5 and this image was one of 7 of yours I chose to print. This one I grabbed from a sense of intuition more than anything else… a contrast to your other work, and it wasn’t until working with it a bit (mounting, actually) that I noticed the couple in the upper corner. Such an amazing image and narrative… delicious and delightful.
