About Me

Photography is my passion. My day job pays the bills, but photography provides me with a creative outlet -- a joy -- something to look forward to. There is something about finding the best light, composition, pose, outfit, and combining it all into a single photo. There is something about the energy a good model brings to a shoot, where her posing ideas result in images I would not have come up with my own. And, there is the thrill of getting home and reviewing your photos, and finding some real winners. It's like Christmas when you're a kid, opening your presents.

Policies:
- I value professionalism, and expect models to show up either early or on time. If a model flakes, I generally will move on to someone else.

- A model release is ALWAYS required, even for TF shoots.

- If you desire any special terms for the model release, that must be discussed BEFORE the photoshoot. I am okay with certain requests, and not with others, and need to know your desired limitations during initial planning and negotiation.

- I do not give out RAW photos.

- Photos I provide may not be edited in any way without prior permission. Posts on instagram must link back to my instagram.

- If you want photos from the photoshoot to use in your port, talk to me *before* the shoot. Generally TFP is the way to build your portfolio. If I am paying for a photoshoot, I will often give a photo or two to the model as a courtesy, but often this will be months after the shoot, as I am busy and editing is not fast. For TFP shoots however, I provide 8 photos of the model's choice, plus possibly more of my own, and do my best to deliver within 1-3 weeks of the shoot.

I rarely schedule TFP shoots for this very reason: I won't schedule one unless I know I have time to edit the photos soon after the shoot. This is why I do paid shoots: it frees me up from any expectation of delivering photos.

In some cases I may provide photos for your port from a paid shoot if your rates are lower than normal and you've gone above and beyond. But this must be discussed *before* the shoot if there is any such expectation.

- Due to a lot of models flaking on me last-minute (hours or minutes before a shoot), I am no longer willing to take a day off work to do a TFP shoot, or pay to shoot in a studio, my first session working with a new model, unless she is willing to make a deposit. The deposit is refunded in full when she shows up. This is to protect me from flakes. TFP shoots on weekends and outdoors do not require a deposit, and are good ways to do a first shoot so I can learn if you are reliable.
