Sawako Yamauchi, born in Fukuoka, Japan, relocated to Los Angeles in 1999, to hone her design skills and pursue her dream of launching a brand. After years of building an impressive and action-packed fashion design resume at companies such as Rock & Republic and Yaya, she has now launched her namesake collection.

Sawako builds inspiration from a balance of all things good – vintage yet modern, sexy yet classy, elegant yet comfortable. It is a true reflection of her personal style, which fuses vintage Hollywood glamour with Japanese attributes such as attention to detail and unconventional combinations of fabric and trims.

In an age when individuality and social consciousness are a must, Sawako has redefined recycling as it relates to fashion, by rescuing and re-circulating authentic vintage glass buttons. Each garment is a one-of-a-kind piece, carefully matched and married in order to revive the glamour and craftsmanship of a bygone era.
