OBJECTIVE:    A position using my extensive experience as a
photojournalist documenting the world.

PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

  ·    Started up and officially registered my business, The Photo Eye,
    in 1979 at age fifteen.
  ·    Over twenty years experience photographing musicians both on and
    off stage.
  ·    In 2003 Sony Signatures produced 3000 shirts from five
    photographs taken of Stevie Ray Vaughan in 1990.  The project was
    authorized through the estate of Stevie Ray Vaughan.
  ·    In 1997 produced first printing of “Somewhere on a Desert
    Highway” poster (Neil Young on his Fatboy Harley-Davidson).  Brought
    in over $10,000 for the Bridge School in Hillsborough, CA.  In 2000 a
    limited edition second printing of this poster was produced.
  ·    In 1997 provided photographs to Perry Farrell of Jane’s
    Addiction for advertisement of Lighting of the Menorah in San
    Francisco.
  ·    Established Arts and Entertainment Section for the Statesman
    Journal in Salem, OR, in 1988.
  ·    In 1992 created poster of Grateful Dead concert that was
    marketed worldwide.
  ·    Established Celebrities 4 Charities, a small nonprofit
    foundation, in 1997.
  ·    Photographed the Portland Trailblazers NBA basketball team from
    1979 to 1990.
  ·    Freelanced and/or worked on “spec” for newspapers such as The
    Oregonian, Statesman Journal, Mid Valley Arts, Downtowner, Willamette
    Week, and Cascadia Times.
  ·    Twenty years of custom dark room/lab experience
  ·    Produced a high quality poster for Jerome Baker Designs
    (glassblowers) for advertisement of their products worldwide.
  ·    Contributed photographs to The Clean Water Act: An Owner’s
    Manual, an environmental guide published in 1999.
 
CURRENT SPECIAL PROJECT:

  ·    Working on a book of photographs of musical performances from
    1982 to present which will be titled A Look at Music.

RELEVANT EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:

  Potter/Pottery Instructor, h.o.m.e., Orland, ME, December 2002 to
  2004
  Create all kinds of pottery to be sold at retail store on premises
  of a cooperative of Maine crafters (Part of the World Emmaus
  Movement).  Instruct introductory pottery and tile-making classes.
 
  Owner/Photographer, The Photo Eye, Rhododendron, OR, 1979-1999 and
  Bucksport, ME, 1999-Present.  Have completed contract work for a
  variety of clients including the United States Department of the
  Interior Fish and Wildlife Services, Oregon Natural Resource
  Council, Oregon Biotechnology Association, Burson Marsteller
  (Chicago advertising agency), Bill Graham Presents/SFX (San
  Francisco), Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, Oregon Classic
  Cars, and many other Oregon based businesses.  Photograph
  landscapes, sporting and music events, children, families, pets,
  weddings, and birthday parties.  Specialize in hand oil painted
  black and white prints from personalized photo shoots.
 
  Head of the Black and White Film Processing Department, Wyeast
  Color Lab, Portland, OR, 1988.  Processed 35-mm film, 2 ¼ x 2 ¼
  film, 110 film, and 8 x 10 sheet film.  Mixed chemicals for film
  processing.

  ·    Downtowner, Portland, OR.  Three month internship, 1993.
  ·    Portland Art Museum School of Arts, Portland, OR.  Photography,
    Filmmaking, and Screen Printing classes, 1980-1983.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

  ·    Helped construct a small park for children off Spring Street and
    Center Street in downtown Bangor, ME.  Coordinated donations from
    many local small businesses.  Project was featured twice on Channel
    7’s (ABC) local news.
  ·    Bangor City Nursing Facility, Bangor, ME.  Brought Flash and
    Lucky (two service dogs) to visit residents from 2000 to 2005.
  ·    Portland Providence Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital.
    Brought Flash and Lucky to visit 58 neurologically impaired and
    physically disabled children twice a week from March through October
    1999 prior to relocating to Maine.
