“Photography has increased my awareness.”
- Andreas Carl
...
About me
Otherwise known as Rebecca Tun the
model, I'm also a small-time GWC - that is, a girl with a camera. I like to create strongly stylized pictures with a distinctive mood and genre.
About my style
I guess my portfolio will tell you about my style and methods, but I like to be able to put things into words as well:
I've become used to categorizing my work into 'Fashionart' and 'Lifeart' but these aren't mutually exclusive or sufficient any more. So, more loosely: my work is about the body, beauty, personality, emotion, storytelling, imagination, moods, the physical quality of things, and most of all style...which I guess is most generally charisma, and more restrictedly the presentations of fashion.
About my work
I started taking photos in Summer '09, with portraits of my beautiful sisters. They continue to be my long-term muses whom I regularly kidnap, dressing them up in ridiculous outfits or just following them around with the camera. I love the magic and raw emotion of the 'reluctant subject'. But then of course there is the other half of my photography, my work with professional and aspiring models. These shoots tend to be elaborately planned and conceptualized beforehand, and I'll often enlist the help of a make-up artist and use a studio. For the majority of my images, the post-processing accouts for at least half the work. In fact I would say that some of my work falls just between photography and digital art.
And I am open to any other suggestions from well-wishing advisors. I hope you see something you like here. Kind criticisms in aid of turning me into a better photographress will be much appreciated.
Working with me
TF: Generally I won't say yes to requests from models to have a TF shoot, the reason being that I shoot as and when I have a specific concept, and then I look for the right model. However, don't let this put you off sending me a friend request and a quick note to say you'd like to be considered for future projects (when I look for models for a project, I look through my friends list as I assume the people who add me as a friend are those who have an interest in working with me.)
Commission: I now
will take on requests from those asking to pay for my services as a photographer (I have turned down requests in the past because I didn't feel I had enough expertise to offer. I'm still no expert but I've gained a fair amount of practice in taking pictures of human beings over the last couple of years.) My specialities are portrait sessions (especially for children), and model portfolios. I will not take photos of pets! Contact me about prices. Those wishing to shoot in a studio will have to pay the additional cost of hiring the studio.

P.S. you may be here because I added you to one of my rather bizarre lists. When it comes to imagery and metaphor I am quite possibly mildly synaesthetic!
