After high school I started taking classes at the Clackamas Community College working towards my BA in Photojournalism.

After completing my required credits for writing and math, I had a job offer from the editor of the weekly paper (Clackamas County Review) who knew and used my freelance work. The position, to my astonishment, was Photography Editor. Job openings in this field were few and far between so I wasted little time and accepted the offer. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was being paid to do what I would do for free. Now, when I was asked what I did for a living, I could honestly say "I get paid to have fun".

During my time as a photojournalist I was able to shoot a number of different scenarios ranging from politics, sports, rock concerts, scenic, wildlife, news and portraits. Sports and low light photography was my specialty.

In 1998 I was offered a job a Microsoft Corp working as a contractor responsible for testing 1394 (Firewire) in Windows ’98 SP1 and then Windows ’98 SE.

After a year and six months I was hired full time at and was moved to the Video Streaming/Capture Test Team where I stayed for the remainder of my career at MS. There my responsibilities had grown, and I had effectively owned quality assurance in my area, 1394 Digital Video (Firewire) and USB Web cameras.

I left Microsoft in 2004 to get back into the career that I loved. Photography.

I now shoot as a freelance photographer specializing in events, concerts, fashion and anything low light.
