Actually this thread is to ask do you like music playing when you model and what type of music-Your preference or the Photographers?

I dont really care. If it is fashion its probably easier.

Although my first nude shoot the photographer was playing Tool.

Maynard may be the hidden reason why I am a figure model wink

I've been fortunate to have similar taste with those I've worked with. But you definitely don't want something that annoys and irritates the photographer. I think it depends on the scene/what's being created. Either way, music is always imperative if you have access to it.

I like listening to music while modeling...
The photographers usually like the same music as I do.

I listen to a lot of Dresden Dolls and riot grrrl type things.

Also, Madonna, Garbage, Hole.. stuff like that.

In my studio I use my iPod for music. I bring it to shoots loaded with a variaty of music from jazz, blues, punk, heavy metal, pop, rap, new age, clasical, world, and stuff like that. I like music while I work. Will play style that model likes or just put it on shufle and let it go.

For me music is a must. It can be quiet or loud (as long as model can here me).

Although, as a few members can attest, I dig the hard rock stuff, but for some weird reason (please don't say age) I've been cranking up allot of Buddha Bar and Enigma during my shoots and surprisingly enough, been developing some interesting concepts.

Music is essential on my studio shoots.

I make sure to tell models beforehand to bring their own music, but only one has done that. When I ask their preferences, they invariably say, "Anything is fine...EXCEPT country!". So I play anything.

Enigma is nice, do you know Delirium?? Or Dead Can Dance? You'd enjoy that for sure. Although that would be too melodic for me, I like edge, kick ass beats and music that well, just says SEX!! HAha I mean, gods one has to get into the mood of it surely. My all time best to work to is White Zombie/Rammstein/Linkin Park.

ya know I've been wondering about this... while in the studio, there was a bit of background music playing, but while on location... well, rooftops aren't realie condusive to making music happen (ha)

this was never discussed, but i realie like the idea... but i would totally need something that I can get into.. just have to hope i don't start trying to sing to it!

in our music to go case we have everything from enigma to marilyn manson. Typically, David Bowie, nin, zombie, Queen of the Damned Soundtrack, Linkin Park, some techno from various artists, Garbage, Pulp, Bjork, and APC/Tool.

If all else fails iTunes/ Live365 radio for anything with variations.

The worst album I have listened to in 5 years was A Perfect Circle's last album. The first 2 were so stellar...... I guess this is what happens when you want to make a political statement.

However, Tool has never done this. I am anxiously awaiting their 5th album.

Enima is great!
I used to use it as an "hour-glass".
Whenever Sandra (Michael Cretus wife - and the the "narrator") said "Welcome to world of Enima" - we knew it was time for a break. When she said it for the seventh og eighth time; no more work!

Music creates an atmosphear. You can ruin or or ease a session, by playing whatever the team enjoys...

Tool, Dredg, GOOD techno is what i'd prefer, but the only music thats been available at shoots thus far has been radio hiphop and some 80's music. which i didnt mind too much..

The photographers I've shot with were black, so there was the hip-hop thing going on. Normally I wouldn't listen to any hip hop, but it worked just fine for the shoots... smile

I abhor shooting with music unless the model understands hand signals. Huh? What? I will play music by request though. If the model isn't specific then she gets iPod succatash with bits from Squarepusher to Godspeed You Black Emperor to John Lee Hooker.
