My dog is on my front profile page (for now, I will be removing it sometime soon).

Since I'm not home, I don't have access to the cat pics.

Why, as a matter of fact, she is! Do you have one too? I've been trying to breed her, but you know how hard it is to find a suitable stud for her?

If you don't mind a photographer's reply...

https://img7.modelmayhem.com/070411/02/461c79f6ef86d.jpg

This is the third of my three doxies, Rosie.  She was a freeway foundling that was handed down to us by the finder who couldn't keep her any longer.  She is frequently a subject of my portraits and definitely the easiest of my three with which to work.
The other two are Butthead (my first dachshund) and Sofie.  Rosie is about 4 years old and the other two are 16 years old.

I never pass up a chance to post my dogs. First up was the perfect studio dog, Puliki, passed away last fall. Loved to walk out onto the paper with the models.

And the two I have now, Bear and Taz.

LOL this is a funny thread ... Rachel you're so lucky! I love little dogs but can't have one ... had a yorkie once and had to give him to my Mom. They need lots of attention/caring and with my lifestyle I wouldn't be able to do it. How do you do it?

Anyway, I do have a kitty instead smile so much lower maintenance ...  BTW right now I'm hiring a pet sitter to come to feed my cat for the 10 days that we'll be going out of town for work.

Well here is Micky, I had her since she was 4 weeks and now she's 8 yrs old ... my baby is growing ... LOL

Ishra (the black and tan) was a rescue puppy, he was rescued from a wildland fire in Colorado and Alize Grace (in front) I found on the side of the road.

Yeah, Charlie is such a good dog, specially around kids...but he's very calm and laid back....I also have the Girl Dachshund which is Chicki (charlie's biological sister) but I will be returning her to the lady that gave them to me, She's way too hyper and bites on anything she sees- specially my new shoes sad

Not to mention, that she loves digging holes in my backyard...all of my mom's lovely flowers have been depoted by Chicki....so we cant keep her...lol

Jes' my $0.02.
Butthead, my oldest and first dachshund was also a chewer and digger.  Fortunately, almost all doxies are smart.  It will take a little work on your part, but you can train them from chewing your stuff.  A scolding over the wrongly chewed item followed by providing the pup with something like a Gumabone a couple times usually gets the hint across.

For digging, show the dog the hole, scold it, then fill the hole.  As soon as you see the dog digging again, scold it.  Two or three times were all it took for Butthead.  The first time she dug a hole, I turned my back for less than a minute while she was doing her "biz."  I turned to see what she was doing and all I saw was dirt flying by the garage with no dog in sight.  She had dug a hole deep enough to hide her from the surface and was still going!

Hopefully, you can keep your baby, but better to let her go back to the breeder if you don't have the time to work with them.  Hugs to the little furry kid(s).

Here's pictures of my babies, Lady and Skippy.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v712/Siananigans/Image00002.jpg
Lady is a greyhound... she was abandoned at a dog track when her owner decided she wasn't good enough to race anymore.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v712/Siananigans/Image00001.jpg
Skippy is a greyhound/german shepard cross (apparently!) he was left at a rehoming centre after his owners split up and neither wanted to keep him.

I love them both to bits, and miss them so much, they live at home with my parents, so I don't see them very often...I wish they could live with me, but they're a bit big for a city centre flat!

SORRY FOR THE GIANT PICTURES!

I have three babies whom I love.

The first two are Caveliar King Charles Spaniels. The brown/white one is Chester; my parents bought him for me 9 years ago for my 11th birthday. The second one is Bentley; I bought him last summer for my boyfriend's daughter's birthday.

this is what Bentley looked like as a puppy when we got him
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v465/OxH3atH3r/DSCN0049.jpg

and this is what they both look like now
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v465/OxH3atH3r/DSCN0162.jpg

and this is my baby Stoli [yes, after the vodka]. She was owned by our neighbor a few years ago, and one day I went into the backyard, and the dog was being KICKED by the owner; mind you, the dog was no more than 15 months at the time. She said she was "training" the dog. I called the Animal Control, they arrested the woman, and I got the dog =]. She is 5.5 now, and she is the SWEETEST dog in the world. I can't understand why pit's are so stereotyped.

Here's my cutie cat.  Her name is Kitty (yeah, I know, its not the most creative name).  She was found by some friends who already have a cat and couldn't keep her, so I took her in(in addition, she was declawed stray).  That was 3 years ago and I love her so much.

Here are my 2 lovely Pekingese, these were taken when they were 4 months old.  They are 9 months now.  The cream/white one is Li-Li & the sable/beige one is Mei-Mei.  My first dog of 12 years, also a Pekingese died from cancer last year in November.
