Anyone have their type in PS (CS2) stop working?
I'm thinking i hit some secet code that disabled it but now i can't get it back.
When i add any type to any layer with any font it just shows up as a line. but the saved file doesn't show anything.

any suggestions?

DUMB ASS!
STUPID, STUPID, STUPID! (as i bang my head with my fist)

maybe having the font the same color as the background layer makes it SEEM invisible.

never mind.

Some things you just don't want to admit.

Been there.

Ever spent ten minutes arguing with the stupid cross-hair cursor only to find that some lunkhead had left the CAPS LOCK key down?

Type some text that is the same color as the background (of course you can't see it (turn off the eyeball to the underlying layer if that helps).

Once you get your type as you like, go to layers style and add a drop shadow, or outer glow.

You will see the outlines and things.

Can be usefull.

I actually like this effect and use it often when doing my graphic work.

It's an easy mistake to make.  Photoshop's type tools are never as good as other design programs and never as intuitive.  I've done it and so have plenty of other people who just think it's not cool to admit it or ask for help with something.  Good luck to you :-)

Just recently I reinstalled my old version 3.0 of photoshop on an old performa 6500. Man oh man what a step backwards and the drop shadow was one that hit me right away. Do you remember when we had to do it the old fashion multi step way of duplicating the layer and blurs and all that, wow so much easier now.

My personal favorite is when I make a selection, do some editing then use the Ctrl-H to hide the marching ants. I then edit another area then spend a minute wondering why I don't see any change - DOH! Yea I do that at least once a month.
