no one needs to go running into a shoot where they don't have an idea of what they're getting into.  period. 

i have training in many forms of combat and some weapon training but i'm not putting myself in a dangerous situation just cuz i could PROBABLY get out of it.  i'm nothing up against a gun.

no need to worry...just do your research.

Since you asked this question, it leads to believe you lack common sense and good judgement skills.  Based on this, yes, YOU should be worried about making poor decisions which may place you at risk.

i'm not even from the ghetto but i carry a knife always.  though if you (in general...not you personally) don't know how to use one i don't reccomend it as it can be used against you.  and that's bad.

although you are probably less likely to attract sexual predators, we live in a day and age where you're better off safe than sorry. do things like check references, or meet up for coffee with whoever you're shooting with first. or bring another model/stylist/somebody who can contribute to the shoot. just because you're a dude doesn't mean you shouldn't feel safe.
