Anything to be worried about though? I'm talking about photo shoots.

references.  i don't care if you're male, female, 100 pounds or 500 pounds.  check people out!!

no one needs to go running into a shoot where they don't have an idea of what they're getting into.  period.

i have training in many forms of combat and some weapon training but i'm not putting myself in a dangerous situation just cuz i could PROBABLY get out of it.  i'm nothing up against a gun.

no need to worry...just do your research.

lol i'd rape you! jk

Hmm its something you should defiantely consider. Try to go to Photographers that have shot models you can ask for opinions, try and get references if you can.

If your really worried ask if you can bring someone with you?

But remember, you can raped walking down the street. Just be sensible and you should be fine!

Um, I have never been raped. Nor, in my short time modeling, have I felt as though I were at risk of being raped.

You're much taller and more muscular than I am, so you should be fine...

Since you asked this question, it leads to believe you lack common sense and good judgement skills.  Based on this, yes, YOU should be worried about making poor decisions which may place you at risk.

Good luck!

i'm not even from the ghetto but i carry a knife always.  though if you (in general...not you personally) don't know how to use one i don't reccomend it as it can be used against you.  and that's bad.

Anybody should be worried about rape, especially anybody in a position of less power.

That said, if you check references, the less likely it'll happen.

It's not a guarantee though. Most rapes, after all, aren't committed by strangers.

violence at photoshoots certainly isn't the norm.

I've never heard if it happening at any legit shoot... and the number of legit photographers outnumber the creeps 1000 to 1. Not that some of those 1000 aren't a bit pervy.. just not out and out creepy.

I think you're pretty safe.

I've heard many stories of boys being felt up by potential clients and photographers.  I used to hear stories of a female asian photographer raping the boys.  Not long ago I ran into her and her african-american boyfriend.  I looked at their blue eyed blonde haired baby and said 'he looks just like you'.

Plus, to the OP, you have NO tact in thread titles. Your thread is more of a "question", as opposed to "breaking news" (as the thread title implies).

Thanks a lot for wasting our time with a thread title such as this!
Next time, try: "Do male models get raped a lot?" instead of "Male model raped..."

although you are probably less likely to attract sexual predators, we live in a day and age where you're better off safe than sorry. do things like check references, or meet up for coffee with whoever you're shooting with first. or bring another model/stylist/somebody who can contribute to the shoot. just because you're a dude doesn't mean you shouldn't feel safe.

Anyone can be raped.

You should always know  something about the photographer you are shooting with and where that shoot will be.

Always let someone know where you will be and who you will be with.

If you meet a photographer at a set location and they then want to go somewhere else, be suspicious and let someone know where that new location will be.

Just always be smart about things.

OP...are you more worried about a woman raping you, or a man?

If it's a man, what makes you think you're rapeable?

Lol. Nothing like a guy telling you that you are at risk of being raped, and then following up with a cheery "good luck!"
