The best way to be safe is to check references of the people you are going to shoot, if by any reason a red flag rises don't doubt to cancel all the stuff.

Anyone can be raped. Men can and do get raped. It does happen.
And men are more ashamed to talk about it than women, because they aren't taken seriously at all (If its from a woman, obviously they wanted it. If its from a man, obviously they are gay.)
I've met men who have been raped, most will say 'I was taken advantage of".

As for a male model, I'm sure it can and does happen. But I don't personally know of any incidents. If it is a concern, be cautious. Also do the same thing women do. Check references, preshoot meetings, hope for the best.

I've never heard a case of a male model being raped. Molested/touched......yes, but never raped. So basically you're pretty safe.

Plus, to the OP, you have NO tact in thread titles. Your thread is more of a "question", as opposed to "breaking news" (as the thread title implies).

Thanks a lot for wasting our time with a thread title such as this!
Next time, try: "Do male models get raped a lot?" instead of "Male model raped..."

Jackass...

HAHAHAH! omg. This is all so fucking funny.

Im new to the modeling gig and I already had to deal with one photographer.  He started flirting after a few emails and then started getting pushy.  I had a gut feeling and knew if I went to that shoot I would be raped.  I backed out of that shoot pronto.  I was so relieved.  After I put him in his place he has not contacted me again.  Just be careful.  I am now checking in with models that work with photographers to be sure.  I will avoid hotel room shoots unless escorted.  Rape is not a joke trust me.  Males must be aware of this too.  Many women want to devour male models, I dont know how far they would go, but anything that gets out of your comfort zone is not okay.  keep your guard up, have a backup plan.  Be safe all.

i read the title of this thread and though, jeeez here we go again.... a whole new breed of hysteria... but is seems it is a question and there wasn't a rape at all. You should choose your words a little wiser, pretty soon the escorts will be bringing their own escort and we will have to have a waiting room attached to the studio for the model's entourage...

Thanks for the snarky replies, thanks for the awesome replies. =] I'll find something to use from all of them. The title of the thread is only to bring attention to it, I know there are many of similar threads but I wanted more input. No need to be rude really.

So maybe you should get yourself an escort to make yourself feel safer. I think you need one anyway. bs

Good day.

How are you dear,i saw your profile today in my private search when i was looking for someone that can be trusted,so i decided to contact you and i hope you will be able to assist me in this. Please after reading this mail have pity on me.

I know this mail will come as suprise. My name is Miss. Victoria Benson from Sudan but residing in Senegal now. I am 21 years old,It is my  pleasure communicating with you for the first time and believing that it  will lead to a better relationship between us. I have an inheritance that my late father left for me in the security company, before the death of my father on february 2004 in a private hospital in Sudan. He secretly called me on his sick bed side and told me that he has a box in the security company that is containing $7,500,000 .I would want to invest it in your country. The amount is US$7.500.000. I want  you to stand as my father business partner in claiming the box from the  security  company. I am ready to part with 10% of the  total sum to you if only you assist me to claim the box and assist me also in investing the money in any lucrative business. I will give you  more detail and forward all vital information as soon as I hear from you.

Best Regards.
Miss Victoria

Odd that you seem more worried about being raped than being murdered.

But, yeah, I have the same problem. Everytime I shoot with a female model I've got one hand on my camera and the other on my privates. Maybe they think I'm doing something inappropriate. But, really, I'm just trying to protect my man parts.

In fact, I have this same worry in many places. When the Starbuck's Barista is a little too "friendly" I wonder if she's going to jump the counter with some duct tape, rope and an anal probe.

I can barely function in my daily life. Thank you for bringing this ever present but under discussed epidemic to light.
