This is one of the most stupid comments I have seen in this forum, and, there have been some pretty strange ones.  If a man has a passion for photography, is good at it, and conducts himself in a professional manner, what does age have to do with anything?

If the guy is good at what he does and he enjoys it then why not keep doing it.

I wouldnt think of it as creepy particularly..think of the experience in the subject matter he would have...things dont stop looking beautiful or attractive to you just because youve gotten old.

Although if he starts DRESSING like the quaker oats man I think that may be slightly disconcerting.

Yea Digital, this is pretty stupid.....but BCG is right....there have been some HUMDINGERS here. This is only about a 4 on a scale of 10 on the stupid scale.

BTW BCG.....If the blood is pumpin' and the mind a churin' and the homones a goin' then any age is a good age.

I'd say that the creepy part comes when a photographer dies.

Photographing naked women is only creepy if you're a creep.  It has nothing to do with age.

Um... um... yeah... *whistles*... not interested in undeath at all.

But no stupification from me, either - I think this is a silly concept, for someone to stop working because of their age. Sort of like, what, 20 is too old to begin fashion modeling? A great way to limit the talent pool, in both cases...

I ressemble that description! I am bald with a grey beard and most who work with me think of me as a big Teddy Bear. I am careful to ALWAYS be professional in my demeanor(?) and in my speech with a model.
Some, I think, have been put off by that. I have contact with some who, after an invite to meet before the shoot, (I ALWAYS do that) just seem to disappear. I've never asked why, but I suspect that's the problem.
I think my age does change the way I perform in a shoot. I tend to plan a shoot with a specific image in mind and may take 10 or a dozen shots to get that image. This could be off-putting (there! That's NOT a word) to a model who is used to just moving in front of the camera and having hundreds of flashes in the course of an hour or two.
I think maybe my shoots are a bit more work and not so social. I need models who are capable and willing to have some creative input to the project. By the same token, I am usually shooting for images to sell, and do pay the models who work with me. If I can't get it done and wind up with junk, that's usually not her/his fault.

I'm not sure there's an age limit to this but I'd be worried when he starts sneaking around the studio calling the models "Precious...My little precious"!!

Just so you know, I, for one, appreciate this a lot more - I do prefer more shots taken to choose from, but I also like it when both the photographer and model know what they're going for, and aren't shooting "whatever." I do like to know the person I work with, but after we've accomplished a piece of work - during, I'd rather to focus on what every part of my body and face are doing, and not break concentration laughing :-)

Hence you won't see "I just like to have fun" on my bio page... fun for me is when, and after, the work goes great.

Not a popular attitude, I imagine... :-P

Since when do the youngsters have a lock on bein "ok?" Who do you think has more of a party goin on in his pants, a thirty five year old or a seventy year old? I'd say the odds of a model being inappropriately treated decrease with the age of the photog, not increase.

That's because since in the US sex is so repressed & vilified few people can look at any sort of nudity without thinking of it as dirty or sexual, even if it's the innocent nudity of a child.
(and I am talking about people who flip over pics of 3 year olds playing in a kiddie pool, not taking Playboy type pics of teens here.)

I like striving for a particular image; I think you get the best ones that way.  And frankly, I think if the photographer is really old and has been doing photography for a long time, I'll probably get better images because he will know EXACTLY what he is doing!

As long as people are professional, that's all that matters. smile

I dunno, but I'm 67 and ladies of all ages still travel across the country and pay me to shoot them sans their knickers. When will I get to old? Probably when I can no longer hold a camera.

someone is looking for forum attention in getting noticed.

what does age of the photographer have to do with High quality experience in excellent images?

This is art and a business not the dating game or  who looks better behind the camera

Maybe one of the young inexperienced but tight bodies is more your speed and has better contacts in net working

Im in my early 40's and could care less what the model thinks of my appearance in age

I don't think it has to do with the photographer's age or the model being nude.. a photographer can still be creepy if he is a 20 year old creep and the model is fully clothed.

Helmut Newton died at 83, still photographing erotic nudes.  Coincidentally, his first photography book was published at 54 years old.

I too think the question was pretty stupid.
