Not necessarily, oh passer of the judgment...in my case it's because my "Bio" was written by someone else...it's called a Biography...not an Autobiography folks.

If it were affectation, you'd probably hear me talk about "James' brilliant yet sophisticated color palette lending to an extraordinary air of indulgent yet pleasureful imagery"

*That* would be affectation.

that would then be labled false adverising.

It was probably one of Greg's assistants who wrote Greg's profile. Not sure. Greg will have to make an appointment and do lunch with them. He'll get back with you.

Thank you all for the responses. I was curious because a photographer I've worked with suddenly started doing that and I know he writes his own stuff.

Thanks!

Moraxian would never talk in the 3rd person.  It's something Moraxian just does not do.

wink

(Yes, this is me being silly... pay it no mind)

an overflated value of self...it is taught that when man first gazed upon God...he asked who am i, instead of who are you...ego and vanity.

We who are William think the first person plural is appropriate.  We await amusing posts.

Ah, yes, the Royal "We" - much more entertaining... smile

While I'm not a fan of writing in third person, most of the time when a gallery or some such asks for a bio or profile, if you don't write it in third person, they change it to such. I'd venture that those who do just copy and paste that text in.

As I've stated in the past,
Speaking in 3rd person does one of two things:
It makes one look lordly and elegant (at least in attempt) like:  "Todd thinks that this wine is corked and has gone bad... would you please serve him the '47 and discard in an appropriate manner, the '46?"
Or... it makes a person look like a doofus... Example:  "Todd no like wine! Him like grape juice!!  Yes, Todd like grape juice tons!"
Ususally, 3rd person talk comes out like the latter; I love reading those profiles (I mean: "Todd love reading words on people!!").
Keep em' coming!

My 8 year old son speaks in 3rd person now.  Tristan is hungry mom.  Tristan's going to bed now.  Did you see Tristan's homework paper?

It's the funniest thing I hear all day.  He cracks me up.  It's not so funny when it's an adult...and he doing it seriously...

Here in New Yawk, we think of third persons as potential witnesses.  We whack them.  They become speed bumps.

Of which Chris am most certainly is.  He does it to appear smarter than everyone else because he is.  Models deserve to know they are contacting the most brilliant photographer ever.  Chris likes this thread because it brings attention to him.
