You're too funny, JoJo smile

And thanks for all your hard work in moderating the contests.

I just dropped in here to mention getting a "You already Voted Today" message when in fact I did not. It seems like others are having the same issue now, so I assume you guys are on top of it.

When this happened to me in the past, I thought it was related to posting of an image for the following day' contest, before voting on today's contest. Do you think this has anything to do with it?

Well we could dream of a little ticker thingy at the top of the page, that shows the contests running.. Sorta like a stock market thing on News TV.. LOL

But, then again, I am sure it would be you having to type all that, and edit all along the way..

In your spare time too!  wink

I voted a few minutes ago and it didn't show the results, as if I never voted. It even allowed me to vote again and again but never showed the results of the vote.

Please note

I've posted this in the mainstream Picture of the Day contest's discussion thread.  However I feel it's also worth stating here...

As many of you know, the gallery-style Picture of the Day contest has encountered voting problems this week.  Many people have been unable to vote as a result.

There is nothing that JoJo or any other Moderator can do about these voting difficulties.  This really is a coding problem that requires Internet Brands’ programmers to sort out.  They are working on it.

Unfortunately, site founder Tyler did not anticipate days like this.  And it is not within the power of the Moderators to toss out the results of an entire day’s contest – only individuals that have been found to violate contest rules.  At least the current voting problems are random.  So although some individuals might not get a chance to vote, there is no reason to think that the results are skewed in anyone’s favor.

I should add that JoJo is doing an incredible job managing the two gallery-style Picture of the Day contests.  It is a tremendously challenging job and no one could do it any better.

Thank you for your patience as we work to correct the voting issues with the Picture of the Day.  That patience is deeply appreciated.

Question about resubmitting -

clearly the votes for today are screwed up. I was finally able to get through and see all the standings of every photo and.... yeah, it's definitely messed up from people being able to vote multiple times. Can we waive the 15 day wait period for this particular batch? I'd like my photo to actually have a fair shot in the competition.

Moderator Warning!
Today’s vote will stand.

Why? Although the members are seeing vote totals that are totally out of wack we have the true internal count of the ACTUAL votes cast.

Here’s a statement from IB:

Ok.  We're fixing this and will be clearing out all the "extra" votes that some folks did.  If you want the methodology for how we're cleaning, we're following Terry's suggestion below:

Looks like potd 18+ didn’t get updated to stamp the vote with the current date.  Regular potd was working fine.  How do we want to handle the votes?  It looks like there’s 134 members out of 223 that voted more than once.  Of the 134 there appears to be 60 that voted for the same images more than once.  These would be pretty easy to fix.  The rest voted for more then 3 images.  For the rest I suppose I could try to take the first 3 records in the table.  It should be the first 3 that they voted for.

Today’s winner will be the true winner, the one with the most actual (legal) votes cast.

Yesterdays contest may be showing the correct vote count I am not sure that today's is.
I voted for the girl on the railway track - when I checked it had 0 votes after voting it still had 0 votes. Hopefully this is just a display bug and the votes have been counted.

Same thing happened to me this morning.  Although now that this latest MM glitch has become a topic I suggest as a general premise that it might be a good thing to not allow people to see the "current vote" tally of POTD contests either before or after they vote until the contest is over. I would think this would dissuade contestants who learn that they are near the top of the standings from calling their buddies to stack votes for themselves.  Seems like this would give a more accurate result at the end of the day.

Is there a reason why we have a super low vote count and nearly record low submission count for today?

Low vote count:
Just about everyone knows that we are experiencing a problem with the PotD and PotD18+ code.

Low submission count:
The image upload system has been having problems for weeks.
Yesterday the fecal matter had a confrontation with the ventilation system.
