Please use this thread to share the awesome things you found on Netflix's streaming service ONLY.

Doesn't matter if it's episodes of a recent TV series or the complete collection of an old one, a just-released documentary, an ancient silent film or a classic epic... as long as it streams, and you liked it, post it! Thanks! smile

I'm a documentary fanatic, so going forward you'll get a lot of doccos from moi.

Resurrect Dead: Mystery of Toynbee Tiles. A great documentary on the mysterious tiles found embedded in the pavement in various parts of the US (and some as far as South America).

Aaltra. A pitch-black Scandinavian "comedy" about two deeply unpleasant characters who almost immediately become deeply unpleasant wheelchair-bound characters.

And Everything Is Going Fine. Steven Soderbergh's awesome tribute to/biography of the late monologuist/actor Spalding Gray, told, appropriately, entirely in SG's own words.

The Pruitt-Igoe Myth. Stunning, deeply affecting doc on the infamous St. Louis housing projects, told primarily via recollections from former residents.

I just started lillyhammer. Glad to hear it starts slow. Have just seen the first episode and thought it was a little slow.

Everybody on this site should watch the documentary, Bill Cunningham New York. "Living simply and using a bicycle to get around New York, 80-year-old photographer Bill Cunningham tirelessly records what people are wearing in the city -- both out on the sidewalk and in the salons of the wealthy."

My current job as a hotel night audit gives me infinite opportunities to watch movies and shows. Thank god for Netflix! Here is just a few...

Battle Royale- All time personal favorite; based on a Japanese novel where a class is taken to a remote island and must kill off one another to escape. Hunger Games can suck it!

Mary and Max- great claymation movie

Centurion- period piece action movie, set in Roman times, one of the first things I saw Michael Fassbender in

Lo- funny, bizarre movie about a man who calls upon a demon to rescue his love

There are sooooooo many good choices!

When I was visiting my son and his wife, they introduced me to "The Guild" and we also watched "Food, Inc."

My boyfriend introduced me to "Arrested Development" and we have been slowly but surely moving from episode one, season one forward.

If you like campy t&a Japanese Anime, a friend got me to watch a series called High School of the Dead.  It's a zombie flick.  LOTS of T&A shots (mostly covered).

Right now I'm watching Rosario + Vampire.  Crazy stuff!!

I did enjoy Battle Royale but Hunger Games was much much better.

However, for anyone that does watch BR, I recommend sticking with Japanese and read the English subtitles.  The English dubbed acting is horrendous!!

Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) - IMDb Rating: 8/10 - 85519 votes. The story of the battle of Iwo Jima between the United States and Imperial Japan during World War II, as told from the perspective of the Japanese. Fantastic. Very realistic war violence.

Run Lola Run For foreign flicks fans. Like Groundhog Day but not Hollywoodsy.

I've been watching the Emergency! series from the 70's... One of my favorite shows as a kid. I never realized how good this show actually is till I watched it as an adult.

That show is so depressing it's hard for me to watch!  But it is also funny so I watch it.

He has at least 1 stand-up show on Netflix, too.

I thought it was very interesting.
But then I like movies that aren't like every other movie out there.

A couple other indies that are cool and/or interesting:

Dead Girl -- not the same old zombie movie.

Make Out With Violence -- a similar storyline to Dead Girl but told as a coming of age story and almost "sweet".

Cashback -- a VERY cool movie about a young man who can freeze time to draw women without their knowledge. I found this one particularly relevent as a photographer.

The Woman -- warning... Do not watch it unless you're ok with realistic violence against women. This movie is extremely misogynistic and does not end like you'd hope it will.

Arrested Development -- as funny as everyone told me it was.

And then you can get lost for days in the documentary section. There are many great ones that can temporarily change your life like Food Inc and Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.  Religulous was good for a laugh if you can tolerate Bill Maher.

The most offensive and thought provoking comedian I've watched.  Makes Bill Hicks look like Jeff Foxworthy.

Yeah I am the same way.  I mean, 14 episodes of one show in 2 days is a lot of TV!

I'm on season 2 of Intelligence.

Cash back was a great movie.

A movie that's about to go off Netflix that is awesome is Touching the Void.

No--it's not a fetish flick...  It's a documentary/Interview with 2 weekend mountain climbers from England who decide to climb a mountain face that NEVER been successfully traversed.  It's a story of incredible survival instinct.  And that's not a spoiler--they interview the 2 dudes from the start, so you know they make it.  But you are still left wondering HOW they made it...

If you like quirky, witty TV, try Better Off Ted.

Castaway On The Moon. One of the best films I have seen. Wonderfully done.                                           War Of The Arrows.                                                                                                                                                           The Chaser.                                                                                                                                                                          The Man From Nowhere.
