I go to bed last night and I'm winning in a tight race, and I get up this morning and my entry is gone. Can someone explain? Wait... what? I see now it was removed for 18+? What the hell, there's nothing 18+ about it, and even if there's some new rule in potd about no implieds why was it hidden as 18+, it wasn't against the forum rules. I still consider myself a “Newbie” or Rookie”. The last few months that status seems to be changing however at an ever increasing rate as many of the long time participants seem to be falling slowly to the wayside. The main reason I participate in the contest is not because I think I have a chance of winning but because I enjoy seeing and learning from what I see the older participants post and voter for. Today it seems two more of the long time participants are likely no longer willing to participate. Most of the moderators in the group seem to be fair and nonbiased in their moderation. There are also however a few who don’t seem so unbiased at times. I personally realize being a moderator is hard work and likely very nerve racking as much of their time is filled listening to complaints and questions from the rest of us. That is no excuse though for not making a fair and honest effort. I hope those in leadership positions will step back, take a look at the current situation, make needed adjustments, and get things back to an even Keel. I would love to see many of the older participants return and the contest once again be what it has been throughout most of its life.
