Offer 3 vapid comments for every vapid comment received.

Make that 5 for each new avatar.

I have had this image up for 2 weeks.

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/121230/20/50e114674ae12_m.jpg

Has 167 views, 4 comments, and 2 lists. Not that I really care, but I post a LOT in the forums, and they just come naturally.

3 to 4 times the comments on average.

However, this does not mean they like the images but rather are hitting up the model for shoots. In fact, they may be telling the models the images suck and how much better they can do.

There are billions of photos out there and the novelty of photography has worn off.  It's now about what you are doing with your images.  Imagery is still very (most?) powerful part of our perceptions.  What's your story?  Why should people be interested in you?  How are you promoting yourself?  Are you doing motion pictures?  Using imagery to sell products, services, ideas, sex, love, fantasy?  Anyone can take a picture now. Its what you are doing with them that matters.

Photographers have to hustle to be noticed, but for models the attention comes automatically.

No biggie.  These are nothing more than suggestions.  I'm not a sucker for comments, especially since most of the comments you will see on most images throughout all most photos are all the same.  Generic and simple.  Stuff like "Stunning, Beautiful, Gorgeous, Fantastic" is what they are.  At least on a models portfolio.  As for the photographers portfolio, I'd much rather prefer comments regarding the picture in terms of the composition and lighting.

But just note that if you insult my work, and others see, don't blame me if there is recourse for it from other members.  I don't delete these and leave it for all to see.

Your work is pretty nice.  Why would you have this observation?  MM is far from dying, it's just the opposite.  I joined in 2008 when there were less than 450,000 members.  Now it has more than 700,000.  This is a profitable website.  If I had the money (probably millions $$$), I would purchase this website and make it even better.  It has even more potential than it realizes.

You joined MM for 2 years and only made this one post (as of this reply)?  You need to make announcements and participate in the forum topics, look at other people's work, comment on them, list them, send friend requests, work with models and photogs on MM, and perform other social gestures.  These days, marketing yourself is just as important as having great work.

But the OP asked two questions the second a very relevant one ...  "does no one like photography ?"  Photography is as you well know, is about a whole lot more than just shooting naked women. When I have posted nudes they never get attention my clothed work gets and I end up  removing them to make way for more clothed work.

The truth is (IMO) with clothed work you have create a more compelling image to get folks to view it; folks will look at a nude just to see some skin ... the more explicit the more views (ironic). However, there is a photo on MM of a BBW mode stuffing a burrito that got mega luv ... good and bad.

So I keep trying too wink

i will take on board the positive comments received, enjoy the funny and creative ones, and feel a little sorry for the ones who tried to belittle me - and failed.!
i now have the answer i sought  - thank you all

Yes!

I could give a crap about comments, in the real world MM comments are worthless. But the forums have been dead for a couple of years and castings are down. The whole site overall is very slow compared to 5 years ago. More members does not mean squat when there are more wanna b's than ever and dead profiles. Wanna b's and dead profiles are just a number count for advertisers..

I think things are slowing down, almost crawling these days.  I still appreciate the way the site works, the people, and the slower pace. For fast paced and quickly forgotten mass market non specialised site FB is the fastest way to get comments or things seen, yet they are forgotten as soon as they fall off the walls of people seeing them ( like 3 hours tops).

Yet the OP has 2 posts, little chance that anyone will stumble upon those pix except for a troll post like this.

I remember if you posted a thread it would be pages deep by the end of the day, even within hours.. Now the same thread sits there for a week on first page. (Started here as a MUA/model back in 2005)

Just like Id post a casting and have 40-60 replies in 72 hours now maybe I get a few.. I browse profiles and more than 3/4 are dead or just total profiles filled with phone pictures and haven't logged on for 6 months.. I remember the days where you had to have pro photos to get approved..

I still enjoy putt-sing around here and I can still post a casting but its not the same at all..
