Pretty scary. Hopefully, it's just these few retailers that are problematic and not all the Android tablets shipping out of China.

I'm always wary of Android tablet users.

I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that an article served up by appleinsider.com is warning people of buying Android tablets.

How about don't buy some P.O.S. no-name-brand Android tablet? Problem solved.

I realize people want to save money and still buy a tablet, but some things shouldn't be skimped on.

Many of the POS Android tablets are made by the same people who make name products.   I did read about the malware issues and its disturbing.   When tablets first came out they were offered by companies like Eken and were cheap copies of the iPad.   There was no Android optimized tablet OS.   Today you can buy a used first gen. Nexus 7 for $75.00 or less and new decent name tablets for around $125.00.   Some of the budget Asian models perform well but can have spotty build quality and limited battery life.   Do your research.  Personally, I like tablets that are easy too root and install custom roms on.

Windows fans the new Best Buy Insignia 8 is $100.00 and looks great.   The reviews are decent.   If the plan is to show your work in a tablet or use it consistently then spend a bit more and get one with a good screen and decent battery life.

Yea, really... they must be afraid that their readers are thinking of changing sides or something.

Its those low down commie trouble makers in China---they are planting backdoors and malware secretly in EVERY electronic device they manufacture.... its all part of their plan for world domination....

Remember the electronic picture frames with a virus preloaded a few years back? That was just an R&D run for 'em....
