Got Any Total Solar Eclipse Plans?
There will be a total solar eclipse happening on August 21st! (Warning: auto-play video). The path of the eclipse cuts across the continental United States, from Oregon through South Carolina. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us Americans. Anyone got plans? May 26 17 07:44 am Link I am planning to photograph it. I have a solar filter which I have had for years. I am thinking about driving South. May 26 17 07:59 am Link My brother and his family are driving up there. I'm most likely going to join them. May 26 17 09:46 am Link I bought solar glasses and solar filters. The path of totality runs south and west of where I live. I will travel to the area with the best forecast on the day. I'm looking at a two hour drive either way. May 26 17 09:57 am Link I think I'll be at about 90%. I'll probably watch from my driveway and shoot at trespassers. May 26 17 04:43 pm Link I got friends in Casper, WY. Their party eclipses my other plans, totally. May 28 17 06:26 am Link I have access to an observatory. I'll probably watch it there if I can be bothered to get up early. May 29 17 03:12 pm Link Someday would love to take a flight to see one from up above the clouds. Here's a video from an Alaska Air flight last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBoa81xEvNA May 29 17 04:21 pm Link I'll be in the Abacos, the night sky is extremely clear down there, you can see satellites streaking by, and more stars then I've ever seen before . . . there's practically no light pollution at all . . . wonder how intense the eclipse will be there, I guess I'll see . . . if da rhum don't git me . . . SOS May 30 17 06:47 am Link I haven't decided where I'll be yet it mostly depends on the weather forecast. May 30 17 04:39 pm Link |
