So there are times that I create a concept, help a model select their outfits, I oversee their make-up and hair, and am occasionally in close proximity while they prep. They're looking hot, we've got a nice rapport, we're trying to create a sexy image and we're having fun. What's NOT to get turned on over?

But, importantly, how do you personally DEFINE turned on? Am I ready to pounce on my model at the first opportunity and ravage her silly? No. Not only not professional, but in real life, when does that shit really happen? Can I be mentally stimulated by the whole creative process and how gorgeous my model is? Yes! And that's the whole point of creating a sexy image, isn't it? Finding the shot that will stimulate the viewer, trying to see what you want your audience to see and capturing it. There's gotta be some element of being turned on, even if it's only in your head.

Again,,

Do I get excited? Hell yes..Aroused ..No..

When a model strikes that perfect sexy mind blowing pose. I go nuts! Why? Because I am thinking about my viewers reaction. I know they are going to go wild..I know THEY are going to feel and think sexy thoughts. That get me excited. I already kow the model is hot. Hell most of them are. It's when that hot model really throws it at the camera. I am just too wrapped up in the shoot. Now, Ive been aroused by a sexy vixen at the beach. Wubba wubba...

I've pissed my girlfriend off for NOT getting aroused during our shoots. LOL, I take care of it after, but when I am shooting, man I just want the shots sexy or not.

I can take care my sexual need later.

Im not blind mind you, I know sexy when I see it, but junior dosent have to get involved everytime I see sexy.

Hmm sexuality, Well men would be considered funny if they were not aroused at some point or time in a nude shoot especially if the model is really hot! Geez thats human nature! If he starts acting on it thats another story but I know whats natural! If hes straight its going to happen period! So move on Lol

This sums it up perfectly.  As long as everyone involved has discussed the shoot and is ok with it, then tough shit if someone gets turned on.  If you're doing some sort of sexual shoot, and someone isn't getting turned on, even just a little bit, then you're probably not doing a very good job.  I've done shoots with a girl where she has made it a point to try to turn me on, and those pictures turned out fantastic.

Look at the school girl picture in my portfolio.  And she is a friend of mine that is dating another guy I know.  She got a good laugh out of it, and we both walked away with great photos.  Now, if I had acted on it that is a whole different story.  Don't tell me that none of these models ever get turned on trying to be sexy in front of a camera with all the lights and attention.  It becomes an inherently sexual situation sometimes.  I have to think it goes both ways.  And where are the women photog's that are shooting men on this?  As long as nobody does anything to act on it, get over yourselves.

Here's a more interesting topic though.  Has anyone been in a situation where both parties have acted on their feelings?  I have to think that would have happened somewhere with a good looking model/shooter combo.  That would be more interesting to hear about than this dumb argument.

Awesome point. By nature, most of the models I work with are exhibitionists. If you can explain the shout box and endless friends to worship a portfolio, you'll get that teases are successful.

When it gets tough for both photographer and model is an air of callousness, like cab drivers who do their job and the sparkle is gone (which explains some run-arounds and needless tricks). Some breaks from modelling or taking photos are recommended to gauge how much passion is left.

Nudes to me are so clinical, they have nothing at all to do with sex and myself. I've had a more meaningful relationship with money. smile Everyone just wants a steady sex partner and two separate bank accounts. Hahaha! Yeah, I need a Holiday sometimes.

As a model though, I often get turned on by being naked...I look down and I'm like, "dang...I look gooood." hehe

The real question is this: Are you turned on by the pictures after the shoot...how many of you bring your laptops to the bathroom or keep them very near by while in bed???? Seriously.

You! Hey you! YES YOU...where are your hands? Whatcha lookin' at???

Hehehe... oh wait! Shit! You can see me?

That's what the escort does?  I've been trying to figure this out for years. So let me understand fully, the escort monitors my crotch. If they sense a bulge, then what? Do they tackle me, throw water on me, spray mace in my face, or rush the model to safety?

:-)

Now my head is spinning.

Amanda Valentine wrote:

See how I'm trying to see things from both angles here? My head spins and spins sometimes.

The only difference between a GWC and a Photographer is the photographer produces a good picture in the end, and hopefully acts professional in the process.

Because it's the same thing, or something. Because it's unprofessional for your stomach to growl while you cook?

Popping a boner is a males natural reaction to being sexually attracted to a female.

Rubbing that boner on said female is NOT a natural reaction. He asked if they get turned on, he didn't ask if they let the model know that.

typically, you do get "aroused" during an explicit shoot...hopefully, or the shoot is a waste of time. Mental arousal is necessary.
Boner? Nah...that would be totally off-base.

I just tuck it deep into my crew socks and nobody seem to notice that I stand firmly on one leg.  If I sit though, and that one leg ends up over my head, I just explain that it's a new yoga technique.

I just don't like the analogy, anyway. I work a nine to five, and, often go the whole day without even so much as thinking about food. When your mind is focused on other things, you forget that you're hungry.

So, if photographers are paying complete attention to what they should be paying attention to, and their mind isn't in the gutter, then, there really shouldn't be a problem.

Well I think that despite her terrible typing skills, she is bringing up a very legitimate topic that I am interested in reading about. I have had a photographer tell me during a break in the shoot and one told me after the shoot that he was turned on a few times. He even told me what it was that did it. I was not offended or upset to know that either. I think that we are all human beings and entitled to be turned on by whatever turns us on. I think that what really matters is how you handle yourself from there.

I doubt that there is a male photographer alive that hasn't become arroused at some point in a shoot. Heck, I don't even shoot nudes and become excited from time to time simply by the way the Model is performing. To me that means she is doing something right. The biggest thing to think about is how the photographer manages himself during these times of arrousal.
