Thanks for the kind words. But in truth, thanking photographers or models is like thanking a door for being on hinges. We really don't have any choice, not if we're honest with ourselves.

Your very welcome!

Why are all of the good ones soooooo far away.

To the ones near me: I just spent $300 on parts and tools for my work shop. Somebody isn't doing their home work.

This was much needed. I have been thinking of walking away from photography for about a year. It has been starting to run me down with all the extra stuff. My wife has been great, and right by my side, but I have not felt like I was doing my part. But, this makes me want to push on. Photography is not my job. It is my hobby, and I love it, and now I love it even more. Thank you.

Just when I start feeling like this whole business isn't worth it and think about dropping out of my art again I read something like this, or run across a great model to work with, and it puts it all back into alignment for me.

Now, if only more "models" would take the time to read this and put into action some of what was said it'd be so cool.

Thank you.

T.H.A.N.K  Y.O.U. for all the points you have made, for models to not give a F--k about the photographer/s, they are more interested their own ego.

Nice to read a post like this smile
I will be in the water shooting next  week praying like heck I don't drop anything or any of my flash stands tip...

i agree. Posts like this remind people like me that all the time, effort and sometimes a lot of hassle, of just getting started in a world like this is indeed worth it. Especially when someone out there reminds you that there are people who appreciate what you do, just as we appreciate the models who help us out along the way. Thanks

Your amazing for posting this in the first place smile xxxx

Thank you so much Winnie for your insight, and understanding of the complexities of the photographers world.

The widespread suspicion, and distrust of photographers so common online, needs to be balanced by positive threads like this.

We are grateful for this breath of fresh air.

I love you, Winnie. No, seriously, I fell in love with you. Can we find a way to make this work? tongue

Seriously, though, thank you. And thank you to those models like you who make it all worth every penny, every minute, and every ache and pain.  I appreciate that some of you were willing to give me a chance. big_smile

Thank you Winnie.  Also, can you provide the link to the model appreciation thread?  I have had the opportunity to work with many great MM models and would like to contribute.

I just woke up, after an extremely long night of shooting (til 2am) and then editing (til 5am), to my 5 year old daughter who has no clue what tired is (9:30a).

I am also a photography student. I am getting my BA in Professional Photography, when I am all done I will have $92,000 in student loans and debt (I am close to graduation).

I recently purchased a new camera and all new studio lights, not from my financial aid but from money I have been slowly saving to be able to.

Knowing that everything we/I do is appreciated, even if it is only by one person, means more than you know.

Thank you so much for this. I needed to hear all of that before I go shoot in a barn all day in 100 degree weather.

There has been a really great thread going on about showing appreciation for models and what they go through, so I want to take this chance to do the same for photographers.

As a rule I never send friend requests.

In this case I would love to have you as a friend. The request is on the way!

As a new photographer who has a long way to go this post is not only amazing but inspiring! It really makes me feel like all the time, effort, and money I have put into my photography is all going to pay off some day. While I may not be able to compete with some of the more professional photographers on here I'd also like to say thanks for commenting about the typically unappreciated amateurs who are busting butt to make it and pushing every last stitch effort to create amazing work wile still learning.

I'd also like to add a BIG thank you to all the models who do TF work. I know it's not always possible to do so but when you do it goes a long way with someone like me who is still trying to make it in this business. I have learned a lot already just from working with more professional models who have agreed to do TF work.

I'd also like to add a BIG thank you to all the professional photographers who take the time to send messages back when I ask what may seem like a rather silly question. That is something that is also extremely appreciated and means the world to me! I always take each piece of advice to heart even if it is criticism. That's how a lot of us that are self teachers learn to be greats is by getting help, advice, and constructive criticism from the professionals.

Lastly a BIG thank you to Winnie who took the time to write this out for all of the photographers out there and for recognizing the professionals and the amateurs.
