This went smashingly in the model forum, and the mods have given me permission to make a database(similar to the hosting list or traveling model list)of all of the folks who are willing to barter for shoot time, regardless of role....EVERYONE who barters is welcome to be listed.
All you have to do is reply to this post, with a list of the goods/services you'd be willing to trade shoot time for and/or the items you have to OFFER another MMer in trade.
Loona or Sky's posts are a good example of how to split your post into 2 sections:
Additionally, it will make it less email/negotiation tag for everyone if you state what would be a suitable trade to you
"I will barter x shoot time for object y"
I will update the list nightly with all of the folks who posted that day
I'll then make an index in the OP by location to make it easy to search for folks in your area, and remove the awkwardness of "cold calling" other members to ask if they're open to the idea/what items they accept.
The "Rules" (For Lack Of A Better Word)
1. Posters are welcome to list any items/services for which they are willing to trade shoot time (anything from frequent flier miles to camera gear to language lessons). However, the list isn't for solicitation for TFP or cash paid shoots. Everyone who is open to barter (photographers/models/MUA/hair/clothing designers/whoever) is welcome to be listed.
2. Be fair to your fellow posters and be mindful that your offer must be of a similar perceived value to both parties. For random example, if model ~X~ is willing to trade for books and DVDs, it is disingenuous to expect a full day shoot for a single paperback.
3.This post is merely to facilitate communication and shooting between members. No one is obligated to accept every offer they receive via this list, and all of the basic common sense principles of negotiation, communication and due dilligence you'd use for any other shoot still apply. I am not responsible for personal disputes between members resulting from its use. If you are having a problem or you feel that someone is violating site rules, please contact a mod.
4. You are welcome to edit your original post in the thread so that your list reflects your current needs/wants. Please try to avoid double posting to add to your list.
4. If you'd like to be removed from the list, inbox me and I'll remove your name from the index in the OP. I'd also recommend you edit your post in the thread to "Received all needed items" or "not participating at this time". If you moved, and need me to switch which location you are listed under, inbox me.

For the right model in the genre I shoot, I would be willing to barter domain names, DNS hosting, email/webmail hosting, web hosting, and even small amounts of web design and site standup.
That is, that's what I have to offer in exchange for A model's time.
Since I don't shoot for a living, there is likely nothing I would accept for barter. I'm more likely to shoot you for free if our ideas match.
I would be more than happy to barter for 35mm film, any sort of film cameras, travel (to/from/lodging..., I have a passport and want to use it!!), clothing/shoes, Nikkor lenses, various arts and craft supplies... If anyone had an old Macbook they didn't use anymore I would gladly shoot for that as well.
I'm not suuuper picky, though if someone were to ask, these would be the first things that would come to mind.

Can I respectfully ask that people not post what you WANT, but what you're willing to OFFER?
Otherwise, this is just one, big "pay me" casting call, but for goods and services instead of cash and will become a thread for every member here to simply post their wishlist of what they'd otherwise spend earned cash on.
That's not barter, that's "give me what I want or I'll just buy it myself."
I'm usually open to bartering a half-day or full-day shoot for: - art supplies (charcoal, inks, watercolor paper)
- bricks of 35 mm film
- a lightly used DSLR (willing to barter modeling time, assisting time, or else suggest a fair offer)
I can offer: - dance lessons (ballet, street dance)
- cat-sitting
- Wardrobe items (provided I know a model's size; especially for shoots requiring wardrobe)
- Travel costs
- Prints (either from our shoot or that I have previously shot)
- I usually have a lot of paperback books that I read through quickly; I like Camus, Murakami, Kafka, and have language and translation books; just ask
I split between Boston and NYC; I mostly seek to work in NYC
Lodging and/or locations for paid shoots while in my area? Sure!
Wardrobe items, (mostly Nikon) lenses or bodies? Let's talk.
Need an NOS 1950's Maule steerable tailwheel for your Tri-Pacer->Pacer conversion (I might be able to scare up a set of Univair plans even) or NOS mast, sails or wishbones for your Windsurfing Int'l board? Let's talk!

Edited the OP to address that concern as best I could
Things I can offer: Vintage goods (luggage, picture frames, magazines, odds and ends)
Basic computer repairs
Basic car repairs or advice
Occasionally a free ticket to a burlesque show
Things I'm happy to accept as payment: MUA work for one of my shoots
Camera gear
Booze (Dark Rum, Tequila, Whiskey)
Arts & Crafts (particularly hand made clothes or other useful items)
Things I'll accept as compensation:
Ipods, Ipads, working Iphones or droids
Macbooks/laptops in good working condition
Clothing in GOOD condition: All sizes, preferably Vintage or Fashion
Camera equipment for Nikon. Lens, bodies, tripods, ect. (Ask me to see if I'll take it first)
Travel, paid for with extra nights of lodging.
If you give me a car of equivalent value to my wedding packages, I'll shoot your wedding. (My packages range from 1400-3999)
Make me an offer...can't hurt to ask.
At this present time, I don't require any specific modeling services and therefore won't be leaving a list of things I would 'barter' for someone to model for me. You can delete my comments and dismiss my barter choice if you like, but frankly that's a tad bit unfair for people who have no need to pay/barter for models services. Its also against the definition of the meaning of Barter.
Seems to me also as if the person who was complaining about 'people only declaring what they want as barter' doesn't know the meaning of the word Barter. Barter means using stuff/services in place of money. It doesn't mean you HAVE to offer stuff in return. If I'm willing to accept stuff rather than money, that is bartering just the same as anything else. >
Oh, and here's the definition of Barter, in case anyone wonders.

You were a little miffed when you found out there were cats here and you didn't get to see them...

I asked the mods about the point Christopher raised in the site related thread, and have gotten a response that the way I am currently structuring this thread is fine, and that they do not feel the need to limit it to those who have something to offer.
If they change their minds, I will edit accordingly.
For right now your post is just fine, and I'll get you listed ASAP.
I don't have a lot of things to offer, but when I lived in Atlanta for 14 years, I did a full body stress/tension relief massage on women (licensed for 12 years). It was a 1 hour massage. I was trained at the San Francisco School of Massage and got my certificate in January of 1988. San Diego didn't accept any of my training or work so I do it here as a hobby. It is not medical or sports massage. I do miss the $60/hr I got for doing the work. If you want to barter for my massage service, I still have my table. Don Messer, Oceanside, California

That would be a valid point if that was my objection, but it wasn't.
My concern is that people will simply post what they want (and not what they have to offer) because everyone wants to be paid. My concern is that it would be one-sided.
I am pleasantly surprised that that's not happening. This is a good thing.
Oh, make me an offer either way. I'm not opposed to paying photographers with non-monetary items/services, but I'm not sure what I have of interest. I can make food, give very beginning tae kwon do instruction, write things, possibly tutor... Just ask, and we'll see what can be arranged.
I'm willing to discuss almost anything as payment for my time, but I'm particularly open to offers of:
Video games/gaming consoles
Clothing/Jewelry
Books
Graphic novels/Comics
Art supplies
Promotion/publicity/networking
Teaching of a skill

Weapons
Tabletop games/gaming paraphernalia
