They're absolute scum, so no. Love the girls, strongly dislike the crooks who run it.

I was a member for 5 years, and the community got to a point where I couldn't justify renewing my membership.

Anyway, I don't really have an opinion on whether or not you should do it, but I'll help you understand the process.

You shoot a set and you enter it into a modeling contest in hopes that your set will be chosen.  There are a shit load of sets submitted by people each week all over the world.  I don't have the exact numbers, but if you convert "shit load" to metric, you should be able to get a rough guesstimate.  There's supposed to be a member review where the members can vote you in, but the last time I was a member, the general consensus was that it was still being chosen by staff.

Your images will be viewable by the community for I think 90 days.  Don't quote me on that, my memory is a bit hazy.  Plus I'm a little bit stoned.  THey passed some shitty law here and I guess if I don't light up once in a while, you hafta do community service.  I dunno.

So, there are pros and cons to it.  The cons would be that it's not going to be easy.  You'll need to submit a high quality set, which means you need to find a photographer who knows what they are doing, and it essentially turns into a TF project.

On the plus side, you'll get a free, limited membership just for submitting a set.  And you should end up with some kick ass images of yourself.

I don't know how the site is doing now, but at one time it was actually a pretty fucking cool community.  It wasn't when I left.

Shit, I don't know what else to write.  Don't forget to call your mom and say "hi."

The really, really tricky part for the OP will be finding a photographer who knows what they are doing, can produce a high quality set, and in a TF* [unpaid] environment - AND THEN SIGN OVER THE COPYRIGHT TO SUICIDE GIRLS!!!!

Yeah, and surprisingly, there are shitloads of photographers who do just that.  Without any pay.

The model at least gets a paid subscription membership.  When I cancelled my membership, they had just allowed non-staff photographers to charge a model.  It was in the contract that a non-staff photographer could not charge the model for all of the work they were doing, even though there was almost zero chance of the set going live.

Yup, and in their photographer paperwork, which does not appear to have changed since ca 2007, they still have all the old bullshit - full assignment of all the rights, title and interest in the images, and, alternatively, if that is found by a court to be oppressive, a work-made-for-hire clause; the same old gagging clause; the same old non-compete clause; ........... the lot!

So it's not just the copyright that a photographer is signing off on.

SG girls are pretty skanky looking.  Not sure it's the best career move.  Their show on Showtime is terrible.  Just terrible.  I have no idea why anyone gives them money or time.

You really should go check out the SG website, maybe even get a 1 month subscription so you can decide for yourself.

You can also check out the model facts page, could be of some help

Ask anyone who has been modeling for more than 5 minutes and you'll get the same answer:

NO.

Absolutely Not, unless you like cliche and trendy modeling... oh and (I could be wrong) I think they get you to sign an exclusive contract when you model for them. Not cool if you want to expand your modeling.

Marie I believe in you, there's more to life than committing suicide. Trust me I was at that point in life as well, but I have moved on to bigger and greater things, like blowing bubbles and rearranging my sock drawer. Whatever you do don't give up

SG has a horrible reputation related to past deeds. I have seen nothing that causes me to have a new opinion of them and if I become aware of a model even intending to shoot with SG, I will not work with her. I don't need the hassle.

BTW, I looked at your port and saw your escort policy. Although I generally won't allow any "escort" (true "creatives" - as in MUAs, wardrobe assistants, stylists, etc. - are fine), I especially wouldn't allow yours, because you have stated that the person would most likely be your BF. Been there, done that, have the horror stories to tell. Once again, I don't need the hassle.

I'm all for safety and models shooting with folks who they think will advance their modeling business. How they go about those two things, however, can make a great deal of difference in whether or not they actually do advance.

You can make more money by going out on your own. I just did a shoot for a girl we figured it out we could make a fast turn around and more money if we just turned it into a calendar. She read all about SG and decided against it because she will loose all rights to photos. We have it set up so if she wants to sell autographs she can. They have strict rules to make there company grow at little or no cost to them. Some of the girls are even getting sued. I understand the legality. Its to make the corporate giants. I do not like the fact that its ethically crap.
