I'm kezins on Instagram but I don't use it as often these days. Instead of posting pics you take, most people are just reposting pics from other people or dumb meme images these days. Instagram could have been a cool thing.

I'm sure I haven't misinterpreted where it says, "on or through" which I'm thinking means, they can use your content anywhere, not just on their website so long as the company ie; instagram, is the one using the content, and you get nothing.
We, some of us here on MM, went through a very similar terms revision a few years ago where very similar wording was placed in MM's TOU. Needless to say, the portion of the TOU that was in question here was rewritten so to better protect the copyrights of the photographers and others with intellectual rights to the content posted herein. It took some debate, and unfortunately some members left because of it. In the end MM and or IB did what I felt was the right thing in fixing or rewording the TOU to better suit the community here.
Now then, about that portion of instgram's TOU, I ask, is it or isn't it important? If not, why? Maybe someone more legal minded can clear things up for me, otherwise I'm at a loss as to why, assuming they know their rights, photographers in specific would host anything there.
Again, it's not my intention to derail or hijack this thread. I felt after reading through here and seeing photographers with profiles there, it was appropriate to inquire.
