I know photographers can't do nude shoots with underage models.

Do I have to check the photographer's age if I do a nude shoot with him/her?

Actually, they can (at least in the U.S.) unless local ordinances prohibit it or the nature of the shot moves them into pornography rather than art.  Most don't, rather than risk the claims of child exploitation that come along with or without any actual justification.  It's just not worth the hassle.

For the same reason, it would probably be wiser to check ID's if the photographer appears to be under 18 (in most places) and not shoot nudes with them if they are, unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian or if you are in a controlled environment such as an art school class.

All IMHO, as always.

Not unless you have to wait until their high school lets out to shoot.

Do you check IDs of your date if you decide to get frisky?

I don't know, can you foresee any potential legal risks associated with getting naked in front of a minor and having that documented photographically?

If you expect to use images from the shoot, satisfy yourself as to the photographer's age - nude or otherwise.  A grant of usage rights from someone

I just have to ask, I know everyone is thinking it "Have you had this problem or just thinking you might have it one day?".

But that being ask-- I must say as a women--I would not want to personal get nude in front of a minor for them to take photos of me.

I would most def. ask to see a ID you show for a shoot and it looks like there is a possibility that anyone at the shoot is a minor.  If anyone form he photographer to the person doing make-up or holding the reflectors is a minor, I would keep my cloths on.  Any thing can a will be used against you in a court of Law when it comes to a minor.

Oddly enough, the answer CAN be yes, depending on the content of the shoot.

In some states you could be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor if you stripped or did too-sexy photos. The laws and their enforcement varies state by state and even locality by locality.

So, if you shoot with an under-age photographer, keep it clean.

It's a legitimate question, and your comparison doesn't work.

Most states/counties/municipalities have some sort of a “contributing to the delinquency of minors” legislation mostly designed to prevent adults from supplying alcohol, tobacco and other age restricted products to minors.
If you read the legislation through you will most likely find several clauses referring to “lewd and lascivious conduct with, or in the presents of a minor”.

Almost any prosecutor would jump on a case of an adult female model “suggestively posing nude and gyrating in a sexual manner” for a minor while the minor photographed these "gyrations".
Gawd help the model if this were a paid shoot.

Next question… if the model were convicted would she be labeled a ‘dangerous sex offender’ and have to register as such within the USA?

Next question… since the photographer is a minor how can he legally sign a usage agreement?

Quite likely

With a pen.

Seriously, minors are parties to many kinds of contracts on a daily basis. Some of those contracts may have special rules, and others do not, surrounding their enforcement against the minor, but unless they are voided or otherwise nullified in some way [by operation of law?] they would be good agreements.

The age limit here is 17 and it works both ways. If the photographer looks likely to be under age, it's far better for the model to be sure and avoid any hassle.

As a policy I don't work with any models under 18, unless a parent is present for the whole shoot and signs a release. Models should use a similar policy with photographers. All it takes is one prude to cause a lot of trouble.

A few times over the years I have llamaled nude in life drawing sessions which sometimes may have included one or more really talented 16 or 17 year old artists in addition to adults. The director of the sessions always made it a point to inform llamas when booking for those assignments that there may be artists under the age of 18 present, and to keep the poses tasteful if they decided to llama for the session. There was never any hesitation on their part to allow the younger artists to participate and I believe the parents had to sign a paper saying they were aware that nude llamas were being used.

Photography would probably be a different story. I would not want to llama for a photographer who was under 18, although I can see how in rare cases someone of that age could be in college taking photography classes and required to do nude figure studies as part of their course.

I know the age of my date before I decide to get frisky, and if there's any confusion or question, I just don't get frisky.

If you're asking if most of us sleep with underage boys, I'm going to go out on a limb and say the answer is probably "no."

If you think the photographer might be underage you probably should check.  In most jurisdictions a minor cannot sign a contract so any agreement you have with him is probably not valid.  If he tells you to get lost at the end of the shoot and refuses to pay you there might be nothing you can do about it.

Since your profile says that you do nudes you need to be extra careful since getting nude in front of a minor might actually be illegal.

My advice is to only shoot with photographers that have grey hair and use a walker....

LOL. When I saw the OP on this thread my first thought was the older the photographer the better. I interpreted it to be a worry about shooting with old men.... Do female models feel safer with a 30-something photogrpaher or with a 60-someting guy? I guess I am showing my 60 odd years becaause I never thought of underage photographers.

I think that it is just as likely as you would be shooting with underage photographers.

Well,  never thought of it that way,    As I see ,    the model could be charged with corupting a minor?   At least that is something that will not bother me..

well, they won't even be able to post (18+) the pictures they took of you on MM
but you could.
every model should be messaging the previous models of a photog
before you shoot with them
great question .....
