Hey, just a quick question. How do you glamour models respond to a fan when he oversteps his limits--asking for "private texts" and so on? I totally get that this is probably a common thing--I'm just wondering how the rest of you set boundaries, without losing fans? PS: I will come back to this thread; I'm just really busy today and tomorrow. Also, please no "don't be a glamour model if you can't handle it" responses--I can handle it; I just want to know how others do, as well.

I only text with those mega fans who are also mega buyers. I make them work for attention or easy access to conversation with me. Wanna be my favorite? Earn it.

There is no reason to provide your cell phone, personal Facebook, or other means of direct contact to a fan. There is no good reason to meet fans except at public promotional or work events. Your only response has to be "I only talk with my fans on Facebook or yyyy." If they have business offers, refer them to a booking agent contact email until you can verify its legit.

I just tell them that I don't give out my number unless it's for a shoot. Or if they aren't someone I've talked to before I ignore them. It's rude, but, I'm not about to give a random person my phone number who I've never talked to before.

Rachel and Jessica, I'm sending you each a Maybach Landaulet. What color and options would you like? No cheezy bow. It might mar the paint. Instead it comes with a dozen long stemmed red roses and a bottle of Cristal.

When I build websites for glamour models, I either have them create a blog that I link to the site or build one it. Also you can have forums added to your site that way you can have conversations without any personal info being out there. I also highly recommend webcam chat sessions. You charge a membership to your site and with that membership they are able to access your webcam chat when you are online and start it. OR you can join a cam site and sit there in your underwear or nude and chat to them and they have to pay for time to view the session. Other than that do not give out any information. If they want to buy photos you can set up a store on your site and that way they never have your personal pay pal account either. Best, Jay

I know all of this--I'm wondering what words, specifically, others use in a nutshell to relate this to those fans.

Sounds kinda pathetic to me. Either the fan or the model who encourages it.

I certainly don't text my fans, they won't ever see my phone number. When they make comments that are inappropriate I just ignore them if they make me uncomfortable, I've never lost a fan because of it.

Thank the fan for his enthusiasm, and tell him you'd be happy to chat with him/text him for a pre-paid rate of $50 per 15 minutes.

Get a P.O. Box and create a wishlist, so that you can maintain safer contact with people, plus possibly get some goodies out of it.

Jay, I know a long time popular Internet model whose website has a forum, and she even has canned webcam footage that was produced previously. Very well maintained website that has lots of fans! As a model, you don't have to give up privacy to be popular.

I forgot for a moment that I am commitment phobic. But if I didn't want to be single? Naaw! It shouldn't be about buying stuff.

I don't respond to messages asking for personal information. If a fan messages me on facebook or MM with some sort of compliment, I will respond and say thanks, but that's about it. I don't market my personal attention. It seems like it could be a slippery slope, especially if you got a really obsessive fan.
