EXACTLY. Hype only goes so far until you then have to actually have to be a team player, deliver on the hype, or both. Tebow can't do any of those things. Just because he was a great QB in college does not mean he's going to be a great player in the NFL...people really tend to forget that. But Teboy's hype didn't come from his great performances as a QB, it came from all that stupid praying he did on the field (as if THAT were original).

So I guess him winning the 2007 Heisman & leading his team to 2 BCS championships as well as winning the 2010 Sugar Bowl had zero to do with it.

Same with by the time he graduated, he leading the SEC in the all-time records of passing efficienancy, completion percentage, touchdown passes to interception ratio, & total touchdowns.

But even so, let's look at some of the better-rated quarterbacks taken in that same draft. Sam Bradford? Its not like he's been able to do anything since entering the league. Jimmy Clausen? He did so well they drafted Cam Newton #1 following year! Colt McCoy? Doesn't he constantly have concussion issues. Course then again the hapless, pathetic team the Cleveland Browns aren't doing him any favors either.

Tebow didn't exactly treat the Jets with class with his refusal to practice some weeks last season.  The Jets also shopped trades for him right up to the draft and found no interest.  There's nothing classless about what they did.  They were hoping to get a late round pick for him.

Fair enough. But the primadonna attitude with Tebow needs to go. His ego got shot into the stratosphere because of all the hype on him with his little prayers on the field. What he doesn't realize is that to justify an ego like his, it usually needs to stem from actually delivering his team to greatness, not for being an Internet meme.

Ego and attitude have gotten him where he is, I've got no problem with that part of it.  As far as the praying part, he does it as does most of the rest of the NFL, MLB, NBA, etc... he just did it in a way that caught the fancy of a huge number of fans... again, I have no problem with that.

The part about him not being good enough to play in the NFL is the only bad part about the whole thing.

Ok, I give up!  Tim Tebow is a better quarterback than Peyton Manning and any team would be a fool to go into a season with Manning at QB instead of Tebow.

I am officially a convert!

Tebow once beat Rodgers in a pick up game, when he threw the ball in the air, ran down field and caught it, and then ran 50 more yards through the entire population of Wisconsin who were unable to tackle him.

Lets see, they played him in Denver, and they won. Went to the play offs. They dont play him in New Jersey and he is all hype? Wonder what would havehappened if they had played him. He has won everywhere he has played.

It's clear... to most people... that he is mostly hype.

He is not an NFL calibur QB like you keep wanting him to be.  The fact that he won last year in denver is purely accidental.

Okay, you don't need to accept it.   Let the Market (NFL teams) decide....

so if he's so great, why is he a free agent right now?  I bet he's just exploring his options, right?

He better jump on that Omaha offer!

You must really hate the 49ers to wish Tebow on them.

I think SF would be a good fit for Tebow :

a.) No QB controversy , Kaepernick is definitely the starter
b.) Great Running game that he can come in and add to.
c.) Great defense.

A lot of teams can meet 2 of those criteria but meeting all 3 is slim.

I can't think of a time when I've seen someone have success at the NFL level and then get blackballed without committing a crime or something.
