Where have you been, world traveler?
I've been to 11 out of the 100 places. Not so bad. I'd like to see the Pyramids one day, if things would ever settle down over there. http://www.listchallenges.com/100-places-to-visit Edit: Correction - I just noticed the Louvre. So, I've been to 12 places. Sep 26 13 02:49 pm Link 23 Sep 26 13 02:56 pm Link Andialu wrote: Dayyum! You like to travel? Or are you on the lam? Exeter cathedral (in, well, Exeter), Buckingham Palace? And so many more. Sep 26 13 03:07 pm Link Lohkee wrote: Missed it. #24 Sep 26 13 03:08 pm Link Andialu wrote: Yep. I just edited my post Sep 26 13 03:10 pm Link They acknowledged that the list skews towards American sites. But jeeze, the Tower of London should have at least been there Sep 26 13 03:12 pm Link 23, no Yellowstone? no space and rocket center, no Kennedy space center, hmmmph Sep 26 13 03:16 pm Link 31 - but major unfair advantage if you've lived in Europe where they srtop being "great sights of the world" and become just where you live. Sep 26 13 03:17 pm Link 15 for me. I need to get out more. Sep 26 13 03:21 pm Link 36. Sep 26 13 03:21 pm Link 28, but it's not a big thing. I mean, the metro museum of art, the empire state building, statue of liberty, and times square? There's four that I covered in two days, and all it potentially means is that I made one trip to New York. And even being US-weighted, I'm not sure how you can put Zion and Rocky Mountain parks on the list and skip past Yellowstone. But it's a fun exercise. Sep 26 13 03:22 pm Link D. E.g., you get 1 point for Hollywood Blvd, and 1 point for Machu Picchu! However, that would complicate the scoring. Sep 26 13 03:25 pm Link Virtual Studio wrote: I disagree. Some places retain their awesomesauce no matter how many times you visit. Hell if I could have a house in the middle of the Smithsonian buildings and the American art museum, I would probably never be seen ever again. Sep 26 13 03:27 pm Link joeyk wrote: 37 and been to the ones above too. Country count:28, State count:48. Yeah, you can just guess which two are missing. But I'm an old fart now and most of you can catch up. I did have most of these done by the time I was 25. Sep 26 13 03:28 pm Link 24. I was an Army brat, then in the military myself, then moved around a lot after that. Sep 26 13 04:09 pm Link 16 - I suck... No Hong Kong - no Batu Caves - No terra Cotta Warriors - no Gibraltar? Sep 26 13 04:52 pm Link 36 ETA: 37 if you can count seeing the space needle, but not actually visiting it. Sep 26 13 05:10 pm Link 25 Sep 26 13 05:17 pm Link 0 Sep 26 13 05:20 pm Link 28. Though I'm counting ones from my upcoming (next month) trip Sep 26 13 05:24 pm Link 30 and I find that embarrassingly low. I need to get out more. Sep 26 13 05:36 pm Link 29, but then again in my travels I often found myself in places where no one EVER goes on vacation and are thus not on the list. Consider: the Amazon; the slums of Manila; the deep desert in the Sahara; and on and on. Sep 26 13 10:19 pm Link 49 places Alamo, Angkor Wat, Atlantic City Boardwalk, Big Ben, British Museum, Canals of Amsterdam, Christ the Redeemer, Colosseum, Crater Lake, Death Valley, Eiffel Tower, Empire State Building, French Quarter, Gateway Arch, Gettysburg, Glacier Bay, Glacier National Park, Golden Gate, Grand Canal, Grand Canyon, Hollywood Blvd, Las Vegas Strip, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Louvre, Met, Mt. Rushmore, Niagra Falls, Notre Dame, Petronas towers, Portland lighthouse, Pyramids, Redwood Nat. Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Athens, Willis Tower, Sistine Chapel, Smithsonian, Space Needle, St. Peter's Basilica, Statue of Liberty, Stonehenge, Times Square, Wailing Wall, Disney World, Washington Monument, White Cliffs of Dover, White House, Winchester Cathedral, Yosemite. The great majority of those could be covered in a couple of extended vacations - a couple of weeks on the east coast would cover the NY, Maine, NJ, PA and DC locations. A month or two out west can cover the national parks. If you travel to major cities, seeing the needle, the Willis Tower, the Golden Gate - are not difficult. A European tour or extended visit should cover all the European locations. Sep 27 13 01:04 am Link 24 Sep 27 13 01:14 am Link Jay Edwards wrote: LOL!
