So I decided to make a super hero set. I just finished superwoman and wanted to know your thoughts on it.

Not bad.  Not crazy about the position of her feet and legs though.  Her left foot looks terrible

Love the style and components for the shot. Yes, the feet are awkward,
I'd also like the tones and light quality of her body to be a little closer
to that of her face.

I mostly like it, but from a styling perspective, I don't think the t-shirt was the right way to go.  It should be something form-fitting.

If you were referring to her belly button ring, I would have just painted it out. If she were really like Superman, the metal pin would have bent, trying to be forced it in ! I'm OK with her feet, and I think the lighting worked, for placing her in that background. Overall, I like the image.

when doing composites matching lighting of all the elements is key, in this shot, the model is lit from the wrong side from what appears to be the main light (the one lighting the clouds), while the city is yet at another angle.

That makes it look like a composite which I imagine was not your goal.

Actually, the buildings on the ground seem to indicate a different light source altogether…so it's not quite right from that perspective either.

Still, I like it  smile

Close up images of a model are ALWAYS lit with an on camera flash, or some other such thing, (from the front). The color and tonality look pretty natural to me, though I would usually have a softer source from the front, for it to integrate better.

Agree with the thee (3) comments above.  Lighting is incongruous -- my biggest complaint.   What is Superwoman/girl looking at?  Certainly not metropolis behind her (may its super-photo assistant holding the softbox?)

Other than the above, the PS effort is nicely stylized and clean.  Good job.

When I think of a super hero I think of bright bold colors, these are quite muted
Great idea

The the reason why she was wearing a shirt instead of a "form fitting" one was because I was going for the relaxed feel. you prolly noticed she was not wearing her skirt as well. making it feel like she might have just woken up and was just taking in some views.

The way the sun is at can also work at a kicker. the light source with the clouds, acting as a bounce would give the effect of how she's lit now.

The city could be flipped, I agree with that.

cities are big. I'm not sure if you're just trying to come up with something to say or what...

I'd flip the sun around.... but then I generally shoot vampires so the sun is not a major light source.

Good try but you're a long way from Tipperary. For me the lower half of her is the undoing of the piece. Muted colours are fine. But the cape and the lower half of her have problems.

This was actually shot while jumping. We did regular on the floor poses and then was going to composite the feet to look like she is floating. but it didnt have that same feel. the pose is 100% authentic. So I'm not really sure what you're seeing.

the only that is photoshopped is the the background. this was actually taken in the air.

if the sun is behind her, what is lighting her from the front?  Not sure what is going on with the shadows on body and face.  what is creating these?

I do alot of work with my students on tone and shadow and it just seems to be lit from the back, but highlights on the side (her right) and front.

Nice concept though and i am a big fan of the supers.

I can't remember the name of the photographer but he's into fashion and he does a lot of crazy things to his images.  You're style reminds me of him.

Ok here goes:

Her right foot looks a bit off

Lighting isn't convincing.  Based on the background of your image the sun is located on the upper right.  Which means there should be some form of highlights around her.  The front should be toned down and sun would never shine on her face like that.  Seems you're going for a movie poster look but at the same time you need to make sure the proper lighting is applied so she can easily blend in.

Since she's up high, chances are in real life there will be a lot of motion in her hair and also her clothes.  Make sure there's some for of wind blowing her hair sideways (horizontally and not vertically) as wind doesn't travel from bottom to top or top to bottom.

My take but good start.

I understand but the cloud would never bounce sunlight that hard on someone.  The close is like a big giant sofbox thats quite far away so the light would be lit quite evenly throughout her face.  Do a quick google search for natural light photography...here's a couple examples:
