LOL ok, you are getting a few.

I will start with this:

The leg length is ridiculous.  That looks crazy.  And it's such an unflattering angle/pose.  Looks like a misshapen triangle.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 2#36357617

I hate when anyone takes pictures of models in like their living room and it's obvious.  A lot of people on here do it and I will always hate it.  It just screams of not having a better place to do it at.  I think if anyone is going to do that, if you want to get away with it make it not look so obvious.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 2#36357676

For example, this is obvious BUT the chair goes with the dress, her pose is better, the styling is better, overall mood is better.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 2#24065517

The stick is up her butt.  You had so much room but you choose to put the stick up her butt like that!

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/20053251

Same issue with not taking something common and turning it into something else.  Like why is this chick in front of an elevator like that?

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/13405553

And why is this one going around doing these acrobatics in front of some office looking building?  It's all about how things are used and this could have been used better.  She is doing something cool but the background is not working with it, at least not from the view provided.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/18345373

This is insane.  She looks crazy and she looks crazy because the background is all wrong.  It's like a mental patient escaped but decided to run to scare people by the marina.  If she were somewhere else, maybe like an alley way, it would make more sense.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/35201436

There is a lot of processing going on.  Had you blurred the background a bit it and not done some much too it, it would have been so cool.  But it's way too much crammed in there and in focus.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/25524188

Lastly, way too much processing.  And way too regular.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/10057516

Sorry but I had to go there with the images.  Don't kill me.

LOL you posted on here for me to tell you what I hate and why.  And then when I told you, you wrote back to tell me that maybe I haven't done enough varied commercial work, so perhaps I don't understand how all that complicated algebra works, and that some of your pieces are in galleries...  Why did you ask me to tell you what I hate for?  Your work could be in a museum and I would still say that I hate what I hate.  I don't care that it's in a museum.  It doesn't discredit my opinion which you asked for.  I get it though, no one likes to hear negative things.  Sorry if i was too harsh to you but that's what this post is about.  Telling people exactly what I don't like with no sugar added.

I just think the colors on the lifeguard chair are distracting and it almost looks like something found on a playground.  And I get that the guy is supposed to look like a lifeguard, but from what he is wearing, I'm not sold.  I mean seriously though, the quality of your work is amazing so it would be hard for me to hate something you do.

I don't hate anything so #NoHate

However, this picture does bother me.  The crop of it is odd, how you are touching the wood and looking at it, it doesn't make sense.  But I don't wanna throw a chair at the wall or anything so nope, no hate.

Ok so I'm sorry to say this but I hate a lot of it.  I'm gonna give you a crazy long break down to explain myself.

Let's start off with this

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36549662

The tree is behind her head, she is posed in a weird area, the bikini is very bright for this to be relaxing, she looks like she was pasted on there, the water technique isn't helping either.  I think the only time I have seen that technique look nice is with black and white nude images or just landscape images on their own.  She always looks bored and annoyed as hell which is not good.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36549599

Same issue as the other.  Also, why is she is a full dress pretty much, standing there being half wet and dry?  It's too posey.  There are much better angles to shoot this from and much better poses.  She looks annoyed too.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36540028

Same issues as before but this girl looks happier so that's good.  But why in the hell is she wearing a sweater on top of her bikini?  Nobody does that.  At least not like that.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36539995

Yeah this pattern for me is not working for you.  Same issue again.  She looks pasted in there.  That bikini is so busy.  Same issues for sure.  She looks happy at least.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36566607

She is doing the right thing but that background and the angle you shot it from are too regular.  Don't be afraid to bend down, stand on something high and point down, I just think anyone can do this.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36485619

Anyone can do this one too.  She is just sitting there looking cute.  But it looks like you guys went somewhere nice to eat and this is the front of the restaurant, you liked how it looked so she got on the couch and you took a picture real quick before they started yelling at you because her heels are on the couch.  That wall is busy as hell, the pose doesn't say model and that painting behind her, that's just too much.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36485361

Same issue.  That and it looks like half her body is missing at first which is odd.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36488763

There is this cool train right next to her, but you shot more of the landscaping on the side!  Why?!  You could have done so much with her and this train.  Again, too straight forward, anyone could have shot this.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36488757

This I don't hate but I wanted to show you that by comparison this looks better.  Granted, I would've like to see more of the train and less of those posts, but it looks much nicer.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36472979

Very busy but what bugs me the most is that you left the house in there.  If you are gonna go for a busy, creative thing like this, don't add extra stuff that doesn't make sense with it.  It's like doing a shoot with a mars set that you built but showing an electrical socket and stuff plugged into it.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36467992

Weird pose and again, the background is too in focus, and that house...  It's a cool statue but there are better ways to use it.  I mean there is a car there and I can see a bit of the license plate.  That's not something you want.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36432082

The amount of retouching on this is extremely excessive and that background is busy even when out of focus.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36306761

Interesting pose and angle but that background is all wrong.  It's like going to a historic site and throwing a hot chick on the ground to show off the building in the background but not her.  She should be the main focus in a shot like this.  Not the buildings.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/35305505

For comparison's sake, this is awesome.  The background works with the model.  You see her first and then your eye leads you to the rest and the rest looks good.  There's a mood that goes along with this too.  There's more creativity in what she is wearing.  It all makes sense whereas the last one made no sense at all to me.

I could keep going but I think you get the idea.  If you can get more pictures like the last one I just talked about, and less like the others, you would be set.

I hate these two just because even though both outfits make sense with the setting, I think the creativity portion is lacking.  I mean in the first she is wearing an animal print bikini, you could have posed her like some jungle woman and THAT would've been hot.  Like on a tree behind her or something.  But she is just standing there, not really interacting with the background and the way you shot it is too straight forward.  For the second she could've been selling some jungle woman perfume, something really romantic but sexy.  Instead she is sitting on there not doing much, with all that stuff next to her, and you shot it straight forward.

You avatar image.  I absolutely hate it.  You are such a pretty girl and your other pictures are much more creative.  When a photographer, or friend, or whoever says "hey girl, get in a bikini and stand here in the living room, we gonna make that magic" you need to say "hell no, I ain't no sucka!".  That or look at what they are doing because, usually, when someone shoots anyone showing the floor and the wall, the image is going to turn out looking like amateur hour in the living room.  There needs to be a lot going on for this to work.  Like perhaps not showing the damn floor in the shot or maybe you on the floor not showing so much wall.  But you can't just put a bikini and just stand there in the living room and expect magic.  Anyone can do this.  Most of your pictures say "this took skill to do, not everyone would know how to do this", but that image, I mean come on.  You and I both know that even a dog with a camera strapped to it's back could've shot this.  Don't do this to yourself.  Damn, I must really hate it.  Look at how much I typed!  You are too good for this nonsense.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36463524

Haha I just really liked how my butt looked in that shot, but I definitely see what you're saying. It also really makes no sense to be chilling in a living room with a bikini and heels on. I will definitely replace it soon with something better. Thanks for the feedback!

Not a lot of hate, just a tad...

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/23480714

This looks dark.  I mean you have a pretty girl at the beach, she's wearing a neon tube top, but it looks like she just spotted a sexy spaceship and the spaceship is casting a huge shadow on her.  I dunno, I just don't get it.  Why so dark?  Why is she not doing more?  Why are all those boulders there?  Why does she have a wrap around them.  Now don't get me wrong, all of these things can work, I just don't think you went far enough, and yeah the picture looks flat.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/16407467

She looks like a 3 legged dog crawling up a hill.  Not that she looks like a dog, I'm not saying that at all, but the position she is in is similar to that.  And that arm cut off like that.  It doesn't work for me.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36070218

The stuff to the right is distracting, the pier?  Had you just moved a bit to the right to only get some of it and get her more surrounded by water it would have worked much better.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/18756142

Strange pose.  Looks like she is too busy looking to catch and eat a fish to pose for you.  The arm fading like that into the tree is strange too.

And that's it.  I'm done.  Good work!

Alright so here is a little bit of hate.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/8848462

I hate the pose.  It looks like she was about to pee all over the floor but then you caught her with your camera so she smiled at you to play it off.  Freaking gorgeous girl but that pose looks uncomfortable which makes me upset lol.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/12891074

That angle doesn't flatter her.  She looks like a building.  Very distorted and for me it doesn't work, specially because of the solid yellow dress.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/12129724

Even though I can see you put effort into making this work with the lighting and her pose, it still doesn't add up to me.  It's looks like a woman doing ballet in the nude in her unfinished basement.  Too random for me.

And that is it.  There goes a little hate for ya lol.

The art institute is a crap school.  I'm lucky I got out of there with any skills.  A total waste of money.  No one ever had a negative thing to say to me during our class critiques.  The teachers left me alone because according to them I was on the right path.  It's a stupid way to teach.  I didn't grow at all while I was there.  Anyway, I am giving people the feedback I would want to hear.  Maybe your critique style is different but it doesn't mean it's better.  People should know what they are getting themselves into from reading my original post.  I'm not here to bs, I'm here to lay it all out there.

And I feel sorry for the instructors.  Actually, they were more honest with you than those from Temple or Drexel, who instruct on the "Kiss my Ass!  I'm God!" approach.

Hence, I fired a gallery owner who played at the "Art Instructor" game because he had a masters.

Well, I knew one of those from Drexel.  He was also a Rent Boy who told me that I would never work in this town, again, if I didn't kiss his ass.

His gallery folded six months later.

But, if you will recall, Philly is the city of murals.  More than any city in the country if not the world.

And do I tell the local gallery owner that his penchant for skin color above art is pedantically sophomoric, childish, and presumptive of his own skills?

No.

I just refuse to sell there, and go forth, produce, and organize art events.

Imitation is the most sincere flattery.

Lead by example.

That's the appropriate way to do it.  I can dish it just as much as I can take it but if I'm not asking for feedback...  I mean, did you even notice that I haven't said a thing about your work because, well, you didn't ask me to?  So yeah, again, go there and say whatever you want.  And please, whenever I post anything about critiquing my work as a whole feel free to participate.  I think you'd enjoy that.

Just one.

All of your other images are so effortless but this one feels forced and not as creative when it comes to making the model and background work together.  It screams "naked chick in a trash stricken place!".  She looks out of place and the location looks pretty gross instead of abandoned.

Your work is amazing but the hair on this models face, I can't deal with it.  It's so messy, ratty, and damaged looking, it kills the entire image.

smile yes indeed Yajhil , that is a shot which can go either way with the viewer.

It was intended to illustrate that beauty is only skin deep and if we take the opportunity to look a little longer, there are definite signs of beauty that aren't initially apparent.
It's funny, some love it while others do not.

Thank you

This makes me mad lol.  You have so many stunning images yet this is in your portfolio.

Why Maria lol?!  Sorry for the dramatics but your work is amazing.  This is amateur by comparison and clearly not in line with your capabilities.

I always enjoy some dramatics ahaha I tend to agree with you on this, that will probably be the next to go smile

Alright so here is a little bit of hate.

I hate the pose.  It looks like she was about to pee all over the floor but then you caught her with your camera so she smiled at you to play it off.  Freaking gorgeous girl but that pose looks uncomfortable which makes me upset lol.

That angle doesn't flatter her.  She looks like a building.  Very distorted and for me it doesn't work, specially because of the solid yellow dress.

Even though I can see you put effort into making this work with the lighting and her pose, it still doesn't add up to me.  It's looks like a woman doing ballet in the nude in her unfinished basement.  Too random for me.

And that is it.  There goes a little hate for ya lol.

Thanks for the H8! smile
