To introduce yourself to a model?

Awesome port!! You have a very beautiful and sexy look. Your smile is awesome and you have a very sexy body. If youwould be interested in shooting sometime, please email me or call me anytme. Hope that you are having a great day and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks,

I realized when I looked at it that no one had really ever addressed me like that, but then realized that for many 'photographers' this might be a standard introduction...what do ya'll think?

Kind of tells you where their head is at, doesn't it?

It would seem to be more appropriate to mention, for example, something about the type of photos desired, terms of the offer... etc.  But then you almost certainly already knew that.

Well my little honeyliscious sexy blonde bombshell he obviously thinks you are 'it' - or else he's tired of writing the same old thing to all and opted for a variant! LOL

Usually when I introduce myself of a model, I tell them

"Hi You have a great look, would you be interested in working with me, please go to "insert webaddresshere" to see samples of my work.

Thank you...."

simple, not over the top, and non suggestive of any thing!

I'd say it's borderline.  Perhaps it is a sign of someone who either lacks experience or social polish.  It sounds more like an invitation to hang out than to work.

When approaching a model about working together, I think you should mention:
   >>>  What kind of images you (the photographer) wants to make.
   >>>  How long the sitting would last.
   >>>  What compensation is being offered.
   >>>  Where the sitting would be held.
   >>>  Will a MUA be provided?
   >>>  Stuff like that.
Mind you, the initial contact may not be specific, but it certainly need more details regarding the photographer's intent.

I don't see anything wrong with that, he's(she?) is complimenting your sexiness! If it was followed by, "I want some of your sex(iness) ontop of me"... well then, yes way inappropriate.

I usually send a message with "Shoot" in the subject line and "?     -Don" in the message.

Is that OK?

Only if he doesn't include a picture of himself.

Personally, I'd write to you and say:

Lapis,

Please check the appropriate box to let me know your interest in getting together with me:
___ Fuck
___ Shoot Photos
___ Both

Thanks for your time.

Eric

I was thinking of introducing myself to some models saying, "I'm littler than you, so if you don't like the pictures, you can always beat me up." What do you think? tongue

Hmmm. It seems a little unprofessional to me, but its hard to tell since there is no inflection in text.

I've always been approached quite tentatively, and I would be put off gaurd by such a bold statement, but I wouldn't necesarily avoid an opportunity based soley on that.

What do your instincts tell you?

i don't think there's anything innapropriate in that approach.....i just don't understand why someone would think that it would work.....
it seems to me a cut and paste intro that is probably sent to all the models he finds attractive....
but yes, my dear, you have been GWCed!

Oh man! I have been thinking about you the last few days....just did a really *pornographic* shoot....reminded me of the good old days, but if you are going to get snippy in my thread just because I didn't like the way you introduced yourself to me then I will just have to go and bitchslap visions of excess....

Is it working? Then it is okay. lol.

Obviously, this persons approach is not going to work on models like myself, but I am turning down money because of my snobbery.

Lapis,

What is with posting my email?   Geez,  not very cool.  Well could be worse.  That one I actually used a dictionary and did not send along a special picture of myself.

Hey,  I am no english major,  Give a dirty dog a break.

Flattery will get you... well, I'm not sure what exactly it will get you smile  But I'll be in Chicago March 6-19  smile

As for being GWCd, don't bother to out him... there are too many of them for even you to take on.  Seriously, I've seen 10 of these at once in the in boxes of some of my model friends (they basically let me see so they could say "look at this dork"), including one Chicago model who I think you sort of know.

My only question is, how did you manage to stay relatively immune to this for so long?

Yes...I know. I was KIDDING about outing him, as it was almost as if a stereotype landed in my inbox....it would be more out of line for me to mention this persons name than it was for them to send me an extremely complimentary (if totally unprofessional) e-mail.

I'm a moderator, hon. I've already got your email address if I want it. I'm all ninja/stalker like that.

And don't worry. I'd never seriously proposition you for sex unless we actually met in person. Until then, it's all just jokes.
