For money right now I would do it. I don't care as long as is not me in the picture. I would sell all the rights and be on my way. Nobody will even know it was you who shot it.

The main thing that would stop me is dealing with the 2257 regulations, and fear of legal repercussions down the road. I'm surprised more people haven't said this, especially with all the anti-porn witch hunts that have taken place in the US in recent years. I have no personal moral objections as long as there is no violence involved (actual or implied).

The 2257 stuff wouldn't be a problem for me if the pay was good. Like many people these days, I could use some extra cash.

I wouldnt call it a moral obligation, I just think it would be limiting later on in life, particularly if I chose to pursue a professional career later on down the road.

I'd make a career out of it if the pay is good. It sure as hell beats working in a stuffy office IMO. I'd treat it the same as my commercial work, except it wouldn't go into my mainstream portfolio. It's not like the porn stuff is gonna have my name all over it... who needs to know?

This is the only real issue for me. However, I am sure with a few upcoming shoots and meetings with like minded photographers and other artists, that is soon changing.

I was asked about a year ago by someone through myspace one time if I would help her get into the port business because I know a few people in the business. I tried everything I could to talk her out of it. Everyone that I know that has gotten into it, regrets it. It's something that follows you around for the rest of your life. With that said, if the model insists that they really want to do it, I would shoot porn, softcore, or what ever it is they wanted.

That's good that you are comfortable. My only issue with using my real/mainstream name for any adult work is that I still shoot a lot of mainstream work so I prefer to keep separate what basically amounts to two facets of my business that are unrelated.

I've shot it before, I'll shoot it again.

Money was tight, the offer was made, so I took the job.

Not what I'd normally shoot, but it helped me survive for a year until work picked back up.

Why or why not? The money is good. What would keep you from shooting porn, softcore or hardcore?
Does it go against your morals? Would it take too much of your artistic expression out of photography? Family reasons? Already successful in commerical or fashion?

Do I or would I? no
Why? Because I don't want to.

for all intents and purposes, what I shoot is considered "porn".  And since I'm the rigger and shooter, I'm a porn "star" and producer.  Hell, I've even "acted" in a high budget porn as a featured extra.

So, my answer is yes...now, where's all that money?

Nope, wouldn't draw it

unless someone was paying me a huge commission, and only if the wife approved. she's not a prude, but she is my biggest backer and influence.

In general the folks in porn make the work less than enjoyable - many are a bit on the shady side of the tracks or have super inflated egos - not all but many. It is a weird genre to tackle. I also can't say the money is good - I beleive there are only a few shooters who have been able to open the right doors to do shoots anymore. Many stills are taken from video captures with the exception of "hidher" end productions for box covers. The nudies mags have moved offshore to HK or Singpore. So where is the work some of yo talk about?

Met-art?

Yes I would and am actually in negotiations with a publisher right now and waiting on paperwork outlining isues like who would be responsible for the 2257 records keeping. The work they have is playboy meets a little penthouse style done in sets going from clothed to nude with some "there it is" shots and does not include any men so what the hell, as has already been said the money appears to be damn good and also as already stated I do not not have to stamp my name on anything other than the dotted line on the back of the check.

Acting in a porn....lmao....no they wouldn't sell any of it and I would be fired.
