Just a little fun. While the picture is for real, I thought it might be an interesting twist on shameless self-promotion to have you MMers out there guess what it is a picture of.

Take a look at the image in my portfolio entitled "Can You See It"  and enter either a comment there or a message in the thread here as to what it is. While the recompression has rendered it pretty fuzzy, I think it's still guessable. I'll post the answer in a day or two.

I've shown this image (as a print) to many people and only one has ever guessed properly.

Just so you know: other than to increase the saturation, this is the image as it came off the camera.

Don't be afraid to be wrong...Like I said, only one person has ever guessed right. And please don't ridicule others' guesses.

Thanks and good luck!

One hint: There are no body fluids depicted in this image.

And no "Am I getting warmer?s" will be honored ;-)

Dunno.. Bragging rights? How 'bout I'll buy you a drink if you ever find yourself out this way. Or I find myself in your neck of the woods.

There've been some interesting guesses so far, and two people are on the right track. (But I'm not saying which two... mwahahahahaha).

I do want to reiterate something that a lot of you may have missed from the first post: [i]the colors you see are the colors they are[i]. I boosted the saturation. That's it.

Ok...how about the magic date ball....it's pink and not black...and if you boosted the saturation in photoshop...it could possibly be red. I dunno...I give up!! Phew!!

Was it invented by Edward Craven Walker?

When I was in college we played this game while waiting in line for ... well, whatever we happened to be waiting in line for called Botticelli. Someone thought of the name of a person, living or dead, real or fictional, and the rest tried to guess who it is.

The way you had to guess was what made the game "interesting."  The people trying to guess would also think of a person, then ask a question about THAT person. For instance, if I were "it" someone might ask me the question "Is the person you're thinking of the inventor of the lava lamp?" If I couldn't come up "No, it's not Edward Craven Walker" then the player who stumped me would be allowed to ask a yes/no question about my secret person. This went on until the secret person was guessed or we got to the front of the line, whichever came first.

Okay that was irrelvant and long-winded, but the way Brian phrased his question brought those days flooding back.

No, it's not a photo of a lava lamp. Remember, there were 2 parts to my earlier hint!

That game's a lot easier when you have an Internet Machine in front of you, huh?

Well, you did provide the link. :-) Google would have filled in the blank if you hadn't already.

I guess I should have mentioned that I was in college before the days of WiFi access all over campus. When we played we had to use our brains.

I have to admit that I googled it, just to make sure.  His name was part of a Jeopardy! clue yesterday or the day before, though smile

One of those things you'd never otherwise know. I didn't read the entire page, I just hope he died a wealthy man.

Now that we've established that it's not a lava lamp, do you care to take another guess?

Wow, clumsy AND unimaginative. Maybe you give up, but isn't it a bit presumptious of you to speak for the whole group? Oh wait, you ARE presumptious.

Clockwise to the left is an oxymoron. I'm sure you've heard part of that word before.

I'll reveal it when either:

Someone guesses correctly (read the hints!)

The view count on the image reaches some arbitrary number only I know

The little hand reaches the 6 and the big hand reaches the 12, EST, give or take my availability.
C'mon folks, this was meant to be a fun little way to promote my profile so let's not get wrapped up too tightly in it.

Peace out!

(ps: not to mention it's almost criminal how easy it is for me to bump the thread by responding in it.)
