I understand that it wasn't fun in school either, back in those days I had to wear the brick-like thing only during the night. Which, I guess made it so painful.

But I gotta do it, might as well.

Thanks for letting me have a good cry, everone.

Maybe youll get lucky and part of your two years will be cut short and youll be given a retainer to finish it off. You can remove that for shoots/gigs. I had a bad habit of throwing mine away with my lunchbag, or just refusing to wear it, which is why the braces went back on a second time.

One day I need to get my bottom teeth fixed. Once I get insurance and find a dentist who doesnt like to see me cry.

I hear you. Same here. Bottom teeth are fucked. Top row is missing stuff, so trying to close a gap. Pain!!!

I wonder if there's a fetish for this....

I meant for the whole braces thing, not the missing teeth part. (although both sound similar unattractive to me, but what do I know)

I think about braces quite often. My "love life" is already hurting, I don't want to add on to it with braces. lol

I've actually wanted braces for quite a while, but I have extra teeth, and a small mouth which complicates things. I've already had 12 teeth pulled, but I'd have to have more pulled, and then have my jaw broken and reset to have perfect teeth.

So although I'd love to have a perfect smile, there's no way in hell I'm paying 20k to have my face broken apart to wear braces for 3 years so people find my smile more attractive.

Sorry, that wasn't my intention.

Honestly, braces aren't that horrible.  I had braces for a little under a year, but saw several ortho specialists who said there was no point, that my there wasn't enough space in my mouth and that my teeth would shift again since I still had several teeth that needed to come in.  The only part that I really hated was having my braces tightened, but after a few days, it wasn't so bad.  And I could live without popcorn and gum.

I actually have a friend that has braces right now and she's either 33 or 34.  She's self conscious about them, thinking people are looking at her, but I've never heard anyone mention them or make fun of her.  And I think she's still just as beautiful as she ever was.

I'd gone my whole life never hearing anything about my teeth, and then suddenly around 2000, I went to a new dentist who was all OMG, you need braces... I was WTF ??

As an interesting coincidence, I was just starting dating a woman who worked in dental claims, so when I told her what was said, next time we were together, she looked at my goes "yup, get em, if an insurance case was presented as you are, we'd approve it."

I just wish someone had said something when I was much younger, because some of my issues cannot be corrected, so all we could do was try to make the best function we could, so I'd be glad that you're getting it done now, as it may be a really good thing in the long run.

Glad I got braces, just wish they could have done more.  sad

Oh no, that's not at all what I meant. It actually DOES put perspective on my stuff.
I hate that teeth pulling shite, that wisdom tooth they wanted was not ready to come out, they had to break it and then pull it piece by piece, cause of the way the roots were sitting or something like that.
