Anyone getting anything good for someone else? I know I have a really tough time keeping presents a surprise for the people I get them for, so I thought I could share some of them here to keep me from spoiling it for them. Then I realized I wanted everyone else to have a place to share the presents they were getting for others if they so chose, so here we are.

For the boyfriend: Game of Thrones playing cards, a T-Shirt with a quote from Tyrion with the Lannister house emblem on it (he's a big GoT fan, and Tyrion is his favorite character), some body wash that we both like the smell of, and a set of resistance bands for him to use when he works out. Oh, and probably a mushy card or something like that.

My sisters (3 of them) are each getting a body wash, shampoo, and conditioner from Bath and Body Works, and probably something small and handmade by me.

Mom and Stepdad: Gift card for a restaurant they really like, movie passes for The Hobbit, and an offer to watch my younger sister for a few hours so they can go on a date.

Dad and Stepmom: Restaurant gift card and a nice card.

Best friend (that lives out of state): A foot spa and a bunch of miscellaneous spa items (she's a dancer, so her feet are her livelihood, and if I know her, I know she's probably not as kind to them as she could be).

What are you getting, and for whom? (No need to share EVERYTHING, but you may if you'd like. smile )

This makes no sense whatsoever. You can't keep secrets... so you're posting everything on the Internet... to keep a secret?

Probably should have clarified that one, my bad. Sharing here keeps it a secret from my friends and family. None of them know I'm on here, and even if they did, I doubt they could find me, as I'm on here under an alias. So the surprises for them aren't spoiled, and I still get to share what I'm getting for people. Makes sense to me.

big_smile I loooooooveeeeeeee Christmas. When I was a kid, we had these Santa's Workshop thing (back when it wasn't offending the media to have christmas spirit), which was basically the school but with a holiday theme tongue I would get SO EXCITED and my mom would give me money to pick out some stuff at the Santa's Workshop and every year I'd have to buy her at least TWO gifts, because "one to open RIGHT NOW, mommy! YOU'LL STILL HAVE THE OTHER ONE LATER!!" Patience: Not my strong suit lol I love when I can afford to go all out and get her lots of stuffs big_smile Last year and the year before, I had enough $$ left over to actually be able to get her stocking stuffers and a stocking, it was great. idk if I can do that this year though. Grak! Also, do you like cards? I'm obsessive, I have to find everyone the PERFECT one lol I love fancy ones the best but can't even afford them sad SADNESS.

I got this one for my bro:

Ive made three baby/family quilts that are sort of baby/christmas gifts since theyre so close to christmas.

I made someone else something else as a joke, but they dont have it yet so I cant talk about it cuz they dont know theyre getting it.

Im buying my mother and step father their wedding prints when theyre done

I took my sisters dog to get his portrait taken with santa the other day, Im getting it printed and sticking it in a ridiculous frame. She wont be getting to my moms until after christmas and im already back in canada so Im leaving it as a surprise. Its stupid but she'll find it funny. None of us have any money so we do stupid things for each other. She knitted me an owl thing that I found on tumblr.

And I havent a goddamn clue what to do for my boyfriend. lol more quilts...

Oh gosh, my bf is getting pretty much everything I'm buying.

1) The boring:Lots of stuff for an air compressor his mom is buying him (we're atlking almost 100 dollars worth of various accessories/related tools)- which for him is epic because he works on cars/has a bike. He likes the practical gifts.

2) The safe: the newest book in the Dresden files- which he has every single book of (he's banned from making purchases for himself for the entire month, so it's safe).

3) The best Zombie paper shooting targets. He has to keep up with his shooting as a law enforcement officer and practicing stuff gets pricey. Plus we LOVE the Walking Dead and he is into zombies. Now he can practice for the zombie apocalypse!

Everyone else is getting epic baked goods. Thats. It.

so like, NEVER get santa portraits done at walgreens, even if theyre just supposed to be stupid pictures of your dog. They cant handle it. They REALLY cant handle it. I hope to god nobody else went in to try to get a serious portrait taken because...its awful lol

I just picked up my prints. none of us (me, the dog, or santa) are in focus, theyre sideways and the ceiling wasnt cropped out. Its a really good thing that I think this makes it even more funny.

What a great thread smile

I just started shopping. I'm getting a really late start this year

But I got this for my sister and her boyfriend

https://common1.csnimages.com/lf/49/hash/8198/6281288/1/Estate-Designs-Hilton-Electric-Stove.jpg

I got my step mom a vintage looking necklace and my sister in law some dangley earrings, a pooping penguin, and penguin duct tape.

And that's about it so far. I need to get on it

So, this was the first one i saw when i opened the package, where i realized that not any of us are in focus (i cant find anything in the photo that is, actually), the ceiling is in it, etc

https://i314.photobucket.com/albums/ll407/daemonarwen/photo1-1.jpg

Then when i got home i realized i have two different prints, the 8x10 was not the same. but still none of us are in focus

https://i314.photobucket.com/albums/ll407/daemonarwen/photo2-1.jpg

So i texted my friend who works there asking if she saw the prints, she said no and i sent her the photos. her response was "No. WTF. Ughhhh, I dont know if she (the person who took them) still has the pics. What an idiot"

She went down there on her night off with me and dug out the memory card so I could look at the rest (like...30) of the shots that were taken. These were actually in the first five shots, immediate after those, there were like 3 or 4 more useable ones, I dont know what the fuck this woman was thinking.

So I got these reprinted instead

I was very afraid of what was going to happen, my sisters dog totally fails at social interaction. Hes bit just about everyone thats ever come into our house, even people that hes known well for years. Most recently he played ball for hours with my stepfathers nephew while he was doing work on our house, the next day he bit his hand when he came to the door. The dogs a complete idiot.

My sister tried to take him on hiking trails and he wanted to go after all the other hikers. But he never goes after anyone at the vets office. So I had no idea how he would act in a store full of people. I called ahead of time and flat out asked what the policy was if he bit santa ("the policy is we laugh at him" was the response) and made sure that there werent any other animals or little kids in the store when I got there.

Stupid animal LOVED it. He was so excited and wanted to run all over the store and see everything, didnt care about any of the people, tried to get on the bench with santa, didnt wanna sit down for me for a minute. I had to fill out and order form so my friend took his leash for a moment, at which point some random customer came up and just started petting him like it was totally cool, luckily he didnt care or she would have lost a hand.

Completely unpredictable, but thankfully that one worked in my favor.
