The Pacific Ocean rocks.
Big waves in San Fran, albeit cold...

Santa Cruz is nice and somewhat warmer...
San Diego has weather to die for... small waves like Florida.

I don't know how I feel about the Jersey Shore.
I never cared for the state.

Hawaii seems best to me and I've never been there yet.

I never been abroad...

Do tell...

I used to live in Virginia, and spent MUCH time in Va. Beach.  I liked it.  But the eastern coast of Florida...Ponte Vedra, St. Augustine, at least back in the day...LOVED those beaches.

I spent quite a lot of time at Venice Beach, which I loved, too.  The waves were bigger than on the Atlantic.

Del Mar is beautiful in Cali...

I heard people are super nice in the South, Northeast.

There are so many good ones, but I think it really depends on what you are looking to do...

When you go to the beach, what do you want to do? Sun? Swim? Surf? Nightlife?

Surf
Learn to that is.
I only mastered duckdiving in Ocean Beach, San Francisco.
Even if I don't surf, I love the beach.

I watch those HGTV shows a lot.
Some really nice places in the world:)

Outer Banks in North Carolina (can be a little bit of a haul to get there)
Narragansett, RI (small surf scene but it's a train ride from NYC to Providence and a I think a Bus to the beach.)

Just got back from Jaco, Costa Rica a couple of days ago... some of the best surfing in the world there. It was in the upper 90's the whole time I was there, and the water is nice and warm.

I haven't been in probably 5 years, but before that I went often (fishing).

Off season, it can be warm, and pretty deserted.

If you haven't watched "Nights in Rodanthe", give it a whirl. Not a great movie - but it'll give you a sense of off season in OBX.

We have clean, pristine, uncrowded clean water and gentle surf beaches all over town here in S.B. but don't come here, we don't like visitors trashing our place  tongue

Prince Edward Island, North Shore. Not "the most beautiful" or "best surf" etc, but definitely one of the "feels best" beaches around.

California has some amazing beaches, Zuma, Manhattan, La Jolla etc, and then all the way up to SF, Carmel, all wonderful. But, for my money I'd say that it doesn't get any better than this place, maybe anywhere on the planet?
