Warning! Rant about Escorts
If she brings a female llama herder, I don't mind one bit. I'm not gonna complain if more women come to the shoot than I expected! LOL. Out of the more than 100 shoots I figure I had 25 that had escorts and 2 that were no good experiences. I prefer girl friends in the shoots and not boyfriends, brothers, or fathers. It is usually an over protective or jealous boyfriend or a male friend that is hoping to be her boyfriend at some point. My most recent experience with a tough guy escort was him bringing a handgun to the shoot and making it very well know he was armed...Most all of my shoots are done in a very public park setting to begin with.. I have taken chances because honestly I would not had the chance to work with the models. What you want to make sure is that no boyfriends or dads are at the shoot. I have had many of them just show up at my door with boyfriends, husbands, girlfriends and even one mom. In every case I invited them into my home. One very prominent model even expected her boyfriend to wait outside in the car for the two hours on an afternoon in August. I have never had a problem with a single one since I began photographing nudes. I have had a husband fix a crashed hard drive, a boyfriend get the images from a corrupted memory card for me, and the mom even went out and bought lunch. Most just sit in my living room or dining area and work on their lap tops or play video games without so much as a glance into the shooting room. I have never had one even suggest that he/she be in the room where we are shooting. I think many of the "escort" problems are caused by the photographer himself, by using inappropriate language while talking to the model, threatening the "escort" with violence, or just being very good looking and seeming a threat to the boyfriend/husband. Me, I am old and not good looking so I can rule that out, too old to threaten anyone, and my language, while sometimes sketchy, never compares to the language used by some models. A lot of the reasons, I think, that I never have problems is that I will not shoot with a newbie and hire, yes I pay, only the very professional models here and on omp. To protect her. I am a female, 5'8 and 115 lbs. That made me uncomfortable and I declined the shoot, feeling that I would have at very least been uncomfortable and unable to properly focus. Yeah, I'm 5'11", and weigh about 135. I run the forty yard dash in about a minute. Yeah, I am really fearsome. I know what "NO," Means. You can look at my port, either the girl looks really cool, or she's obviously having a good time. My worst fear is a girl is gonna run out my front door naked, and scream, and my neighbors are gonna call the police. My best day? She brings her sister, and her sister say's: I'll get naked.
