I have asked myself this question for many years.

And I still don't know why most women are so appalled by their own feet. They do love shoes, but hate their own feet..

Why is this? Any help is welcome!

You do clearly focus on the tops of her feet. I am usually interested in her soles smile

Perhaps they want to be seen as a complete person & not just a body part.

I'm fond of my feet... But I was a martial artist from the age of four to the age of seventeen. Since then I've been focused on equestrian vaulting and cross training in gymnastics so... I'm pretty sure no one wants to look at my poor beat up feet lol.

Foot models come from every walk of life.

You'd be surprised what they are is real life.

Housewives, office clerks, young high school students, even middle aged grandmas.

The peer pressure to wear fashionable high heels, or ill fitting footwear, gives nice picturesque feet the bunions and callouses that destroy their future potential as foot models.

It's about the Soles 'n Smiles. Just feet do nothing for me. My favorite model pose is when she pops up her feet on a desk, point of view at the soles in the front and smile in the back. Does that make sense?

The foot fetish is something that many of us know exists, but do not understand.

People tend to mistrust or dislike what they do not understand.

I think this is a reason that many models stay away from foot oriented work and/or other known fetishes.

That being said, there are also many models who actively look for such work.

My girlfriend's response: "Because all I can imagine is a creepy little man jerking off to pictures of my feet in his mother's basement."  Her words, not mine.

Foot fetish images (as the word 'fetish' indicates) are made with erotic intent, to arouse the viewer the image is targeted at. Not every model is drawn towards that kind of goal. As much as one has the right to choose not to do erotic work, has one the right not to do fetish images. I don't see why models have to explain themselves why they do or don't do certain genres.

Wait, people think most models stay away from foot work because they don't like how their feet look?

Every model I know that doesn't do footwork is simply one that doesn't shoot fetish.

Yes, I know, almost *any* picture can be turned into a fetish picture, but there are reasons some girls like to stay away from any distinctly fetish work.

I don't do fetish. I will, however, "foot model," as a parts model. You know, lotions, massage places, stuff like that.

I wouldn't say all of it is fetish. Personally I just like to gaze at a woman's soles after a long day of work. It seriously makes me relaxed to see all that pureness in her feet. At least Fetish =! Arousal.

Usually is not that they hate their feet but that they know most foot photos end up in porn and fetish websites and they might not want to be associated with that industry.

Basically.

Even if you personally aren't getting a boner from it, replace foot with breast and see how weird that sounds.

"I just like to come home from a long day of work and immerse myself in pictures of breasts, they make me feel good"

"I find anuses relaxing to stare at"

"I like a girls armpit, there's just something about armpits and a smile..."

Not everyone is comfortable being reduced to a single body part so frankly. Not every girl is comfortable making obvious spank material. It's a lot easier to find the "artistic merit" in full body shots, nude or otherwise, than it is with pictures of their feet, which is a known fetish, whether its your personal fetish or not (and let's be honest, nobody is going to believe that it's not sexual for you)

Maybe because you aren't looking for 'foot models' as much as you are looking for 'models for foot fetish photos.'

Nothing wrong with that, but you are assuming that every woman wants to do fetish photography.

EDIT: looks like there are several who made this point for me; thanks...

Everyone has their kink.

You like feet.

What you sell as a harmless picture of a girl's soles with a smile from behind a desk is easily interpreted as fetish work thats sole (get it?!) purpose is for sexual arousal.  Some models I've worked with have no problem with topless or nude work, but pause when the topic of fetish work is mentioned.

But many others are fine with non-nude fetish work, and their issue is with the nudity.

So there are plenty of models out there who will do what you're looking to produce.  It's simply up to you to find those willing and not get irritated or frustrated because the ones you WANT to be into it are not.

That is YOUR favorite pose/style/kink...As a general rule no model needs such images in her portfolio as the market for paid footwork is so small that she has no need to advertise for it.

That is why there is no demand by models for foot based images.

The market is too small.

No that pretty much is a fetish.

I  suspense the models are actually trying to sell something and not their own feet.  It's sort of what most models do.

Personally, I will shoot foot fetish content all day long. Its profitable, easy (simple to pose and light) and inexpensive (once you buy the shoes, socks, or nylons).

I personally wouldn't mind it, but I hate everything about feet. The smell, the look, the word feet itself. I've dealt with foot fetish guys and most pay girls hundreds just to sit and stare at their feet. But it's kind of weird

I imagine that a part of it comes from the fear of being pigeonholed and completely stonewalled in your career.  From a model's perspective, a paid shoot is money, and that's great and all, but no one became Linda Evangelista because everyone recognized their feet.

Remember the old Palmolive ad?  "Look Madge, I soaked in it!"  You remember Madge, but nobody remembers the girl who said it, do we?

Having a portfolio of your feet won't open a whole lot of doors for you; yes, it will get you some shoe modeling, but even at that, a lot of commercial shoe models are shot head to toe, so the clients still want to see the whole picture nowadays.

As a component of a portfolio, sure.  As the primary component?  I can understand why most wouldn't.

Thanks for your post, but again, foot modeling does not mean just modeling the feet. It's about the 'soles and smiles', the pose, the point of view.. have a look at my port if you have a moment.

I think it's about time that foot people receive the same rights and treatment as gay people currently do. In the end foot fetishism is just another orientation which is being discriminated upon quite heavily by both models and photographers.

I wouldn't say so, foot fans pay many dollars to have their frequent rush. Have you never heard of http://footnight.com  ?

They also tend to be creative people with higher incomes. A bit like double feet no kids.
