Glenfield wrote: Can you review my photos please! Thanks. You have some lovely images. I think you need to concentrate on two things, lighting and posing models. I think your best is https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/41901588 The model is in a nice pose, not flat and square with the film / sensor plane. The lighting is very nice, slightly dramatic without being harsh and over complicated. The image I think is weakest is https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/45377942 . The lighting is interesting and almost works but harsh on the side of the nose and failing to catch one eye at all. The model is squared off with the camera. Just a slight turn of the face and body could have made this image one of your best. Overall some interesting shots. I'd just spend some time studying how light shapes the subject and the different types of light which can be flattering or harsh. Thanks for asking my opinion.

I think your best is https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/36228862 The lighting is terrific and the capture is very relaxed and natural. Great shot. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/37972995 is my least favorite. I have a pet peeve about shooting on a backdrop in a studio or maybe it would be a preference. I'm not fond of using props on a plain background because it always makes me think you were bored shooting that style and fell back on props to try to make it more interesting. Of course if you're selling bows and arrows or the clothing then the shot would do well to advertise them. But for some reason I just prefer there be nothing more than the model and the backdrop if shot in studio like that. My opinion of course and I may be the only one who thinks that. You have a lot of beautiful work. Thanks for asking my opinion.

The best image in your collection is https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/45388025 It looks the most natural and realistic. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/45401706 looks too perfect to be a real. She looks more like a doll or mannequin . Of course this could be from makeup and I don't know as there's no before photo to compare it to. I'm just not the person to give you a good opinion of the art of retouching. Thanks for asking.

I had no control on light in group shoot. still I really appreciate your idea Your avatar is your best hands down. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/45400090 You've captured the raw spirit and soul here without spoiling it in any way. Great shot. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/45409817 is your weakest. It's just too much black and not enough subject. I also think the pose looks forced and uncomfortable. Some creative captures throughout. Thanks for asking my opinion.

The chain is cool but it would be just as great an image without it. The lighting is interesting, pose and expression are strong. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/44379777 while a cool idea just didn't do it for me. Looking forward to seeing more from your imagination. Cool and thanks for allowing me to comment.

D for Fun wrote: Could you take a look at mine, please? Damn! Why aren't there models with your look and attitude close to me? I love it when a model says this is fun! Ok, https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/44340984 is the one I think is your best although I wish it was more of your and less surroundings. It certainly shows off your shape. It's casual and looks unposed. Very nice shot for promoting your modeling. While you look beautiful https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/44342334 is your weakest image. It's just too forced. The pose would look better if more relaxed. Have fun and thanks for allowing my opinion.

OK, let's give this a try. All my images are 18+ and there are WAY too many in my port -- I know that. So, maybe just find one you love and one you detest?

Sorry, I tried but couldn't find one I detest. Very nice work. The one that just jumped out and caught my attention and I like best is https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/38894455 The visual lines really are captivating. I would however crop it slightly and get rid of the window frame completely. And I would edit it slightly to brighten her face a bit. I really love the shot. Oddly enough I'm not fond of https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/28670238 which is you avatar. It's a nice shot but doesn't rise to the creative level of the rest of your images. You have a lot of creative images based on poses and lighting. Very fine job. Thanks for asking my opinion.

kariemp wrote: just a beginner but lets try. this will be fun! Wow. If you are a beginner you've really got a jump start on lighting. You have a lot of very nice portraits here. I really like https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/45316065 It's relaxed, natural, and expressive. My least favorite is https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/45277496 The concept is cool but there's too much fence and not enough eye contact with the subject. Maybe had you got as close as the shot I pick I like best it would have worked but a shot like that through a fence requires a lot of experimentation. Again, nice lighting on just about everything. Lovely work and hope to see more. Thanks for allowing me to comment.

I did comment on them in your other post under critique that I really like them a lot. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/45416716 is my favorite although I confess I like the concept, composition / framing also other than just you the model. It looks really professional and could be the cover of a business publication. You did a great job as well as your photographer. Of the newest set of images I think https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/45416709 is the least impressive. It's a nice shot but does not showcase you as well as the others do. Thanks for asking my opinion. Keep up the great work.

Hit me! (not too hard, LOL) I'm getting ready to cut my port down to about 50 pics, so I wanted to get some input before I got at it.

The image I like best is the icon for your folder titled "Nudes." But I don't find the actual image in your collection anywhere. I do also like https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32845389 a lot. So I'll go with that one as your best. I think your weakest image is https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31438036 It's so dark that most of the detail is lost in black. It could probably be edited and be a wonderful image. There are lots of great images in your collection, great poses, nice ideas, interesting captures. They are hard to view because of the way MM folders are working or maybe it's just folders in general. It's distracting to have thirty folders, click on one, and then only see two images pop up yet still see all those folders. I would take all the images out of the folders, delete the folders, and then I'd narrow down the images to the absolute best of each model. Additionally there are a number of images in the unassigned folder and that is the first thing I see when I view your portfolio. Some people might only glance at those and not bother going through all the folders. Of course other people may prefer the folders. I just find them very distracting and I think it takes away from displaying your work in a creative way. Do yourself a favor and choose no more than two images of each model and cull out the rest. Get rid of those folders or at least only have maybe four folders by category and not by model name. If you limit the number of folders to four it might only take up one row across. I don't know how folders display on a phone. I'm looking on a desktop. Some really beautiful work. Thanks for asking my opinion.

Artistic is nice but at least some images need to simply present your overall look so anyone thinking about hiring you can make an easy judgement. I think you need some more images for that purpose. I think https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/37037891 most successfully accomplishes this task. While there are other images that are more artsy they do more to show off a photographer's ideas or concepts than to show you off to potential clients. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/45387262 is the image I like the least. It's not properly exposed and would be of little help to a client making a decision on hiring you. I do like a lot of the artsy images. I just think you need to shoot some more that show off your talent as a model.
